I just watched Star Wars for the first time.

well, at least the new movies will be Star Wars versions of all the utterly horrible superhero movies we're inundated with annually...so you have that to look forward to. Guaranteed, the new movies will suck.

Episode 3 is mildly not shitty.

Empire is what all other Star Wars movies should aspire to be.

Have not and will not see any of them. It's a good feeling being around a group of Star Wars fans and not getting the jokes.

Of the modern bunch I only bothered with Phantom Menace.

Still haven't seen 5 or 6 and don't really feel the need to either.

Jar Jar Binks. Lol

Like others are saying - 4, 5 and 6 are good, 1, 2 and 3 not so much, in terms of story, at least. I will admit that the lightsaber battles in 1, 2 and 3 are still pretty bad ass, though, at least in my opinion. The lightsaber battle at the end of the first movie, I loved that shit, mostly 'cause Darth Maul is bad ass.

I'm probably in the minority when I say I enjoyed the saber battles in ep 1, 2, 3, but whatever. 1, 2 and 3 aren't great movies, but I still enjoyed the action in them.

I hope the new movie isn't a let down and lives up to the hype. Hopefully it isn't just a bunch of CGI and no story.

Man, I just wish they'd make a new Star Wars game where you get to be the Jedi's and Sith's, kind of like Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Outcast 1-2 and Jedi Academy, as well as Battlefront 2. So far it seems like Battlefront 3 is just a shooter, where you very rarely ever get to be a Jedi or Sith 'cause some other asshole always gets it first. Let's hope EA puts in a game mode to be Jedi's and Sith's like Battlefront 2 had, but I doubt they will.. unless it's a big DLC.. which won't surprise me because EA are a bunch of money sucking bastards.

You didn't mention Knights of the old Republic.
One of the greatest games of all time not just SW.

They should have made a movie on KOTOR instead.

The battles in the prequels are more showy and fancy but lack the heart and meaning behind them in the original. Light Saber battles were unique and rare and not everyone and their dog had one, they still had mystique and appeal.

The battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin in the third movie is so long and drawn out it's downright boring to rewatch. I mean it was good at first, but when it gets to the point that they're swinging on ropes over lava and etc ... too much and too long.

That's because before Palpatine took over there were numerous Jedi, and Jedi carried lightsabers. Palpatine's crew destroyed most of the Jedi, which is why you don't see many people carrying lightsabers in episodes 4-6.

I like Outcast 2 and Jedi Academy way more. The lightsaber duels were way more fun to me.

It was fun to put in cheats to get all the force powers and use the force choke and bash enemies off the wall or off the ceiling and ground over and over. It was funny when a random Sith would come up to you and act like he's a bad ass and then you literally just toss him across the entire level or something.

Besides using cheats to mess around, the story mode was pretty fun, too. It was cool to be able to basically play as a FPS and also just go around with a lightsaber and fuck everybody up in 3rd person. You could do anything in that game.

I never really hear those games mentioned for some reason, though. They were the most fun I've ever had in a SW game besides Rouge Squadron and Battlefront 2.

Are you all kidding me with this? I 100% understand the story and at no point was I asking what happened to the light sabers. I'm saying they were more alluring and interesting in the original films because you didn't see them every seen and only a few owned them.

I was simply saying they were more interesting not confused about the storyline ....

......

4 and 5 are great, 6 is good. 1 is bad, 2 is better, 3 is pretty good.

I'd complete the saga if I were you but the prequels are a bit of a chore. Based on the trailer alone, the Force Awakens is already better than the prequels.

With the new movie and game coming out, I decided to immerse myself in the universe of Star Wars.

I watched them in the order that they were made and not in the order that they were numbered.

Episodes 4 and 5 were great. 6 was ok.

Then I went and started on episode 1 and had to quit watching within the first 10-15 minutes. Should I go on? Is it even worth it anymore? I had invested a lot of interest and felt somewhat of an attachment to the series, but now it's just not there anymore.

I can't explain the feeling.

Just watch the action. 1s all about Darth maUL m that's it

Maul should be brought back. Just Clone him already.:icon_twis

I remember theRe was a rumor that in the clone wars he was going to be brought back.

I was so disappointed.

But I agree with you. Took on two jedi like it was nothing

I think that's one of the reasons why Episode 1 had the best sabre duel out of the prequels. Cause Maul was an athletic explosive individual. After he was offed who did you have as a foil to the hero's? No offense to Christopher Lee (legend) but he was over 80 years old at that point. Not exactly spry and most definitely not a trained martial artist like Ray Park. Then you had a terrible CGI "monster" in Sieveus. Then lastly a anti-climatic "duel" that lasted way to long between Obi and Ani that we already knew what the outcome was going to be.

If they had of kept Maul around past Episode 1 and just replaced Dooku's character with him instead, it would've probably been a much better narrative overall and he would've been a better villain. But I don't think they wanted him around past TPM cause it would steal from Vaders thunder and prestige. George always said it was Anakins story, I guess that's why he wrote it that way. But I thought RedLetterMedia's reviews made good points. Vader was just a pawn in the original and it was never really about him. Then something changed and George wanted to make it about Anakin/Vader. The backtracking was atrocious.

3 is pretty solid imo but not nearly as good as 4 and 5

And the Jedi action in the 1st is pretty cool

Episodes ranked in order from best to worst, imo:

5,4,3,6,2,1
