With the new movie and game coming out, I decided to immerse myself in the universe of Star Wars.

I watched them in the order that they were made and not in the order that they were numbered.

Episodes 4 and 5 were great. 6 was ok.

Then I went and started on episode 1 and had to quit watching within the first 10-15 minutes. Should I go on? Is it even worth it anymore? I had invested a lot of interest and felt somewhat of an attachment to the series, but now it's just not there anymore.

I can't explain the feeling.

first one was pretty meh, only reason i like it is liam neeson and darth maul.

Episode 1, 2 and 3 are a waste of time. The 3rd one is the least shitty and has a few good moments but the new movies take place after 6 so I would skip the prequels imo.

So you watched 4, 5, and 6 then on the 4th movie in the series you only made it 10 minutes. Why does this story sound like horseshit to me?

You invested a lot? Sounds like you just watched a few movies... I guess by that logic I have invested a lot in SportsCenter.

You have that feeling because you are 100% correct.

4, 5 and 6 are together as a whole - great.

1, 2 and 3 are super bad.

Since Disney(?) is involved now instead in the productions of 7 and os on, we all hope for good Star Wars movies again. Clone Wars and such, has proved IMO that the concept is still good if applied correctly even though they are directed to a younger aduience perhaps.

Like others are saying - 4, 5 and 6 are good, 1, 2 and 3 not so much, in terms of story, at least. I will admit that the lightsaber battles in 1, 2 and 3 are still pretty bad ass, though, at least in my opinion. The lightsaber battle at the end of the first movie, I loved that shit, mostly 'cause Darth Maul is bad ass.

I'm probably in the minority when I say I enjoyed the saber battles in ep 1, 2, 3, but whatever. 1, 2 and 3 aren't great movies, but I still enjoyed the action in them.

I hope the new movie isn't a let down and lives up to the hype. Hopefully it isn't just a bunch of CGI and no story.

Man, I just wish they'd make a new Star Wars game where you get to be the Jedi's and Sith's, kind of like Star Wars Jedi Knight Jedi Outcast 1-2 and Jedi Academy, as well as Battlefront 2. So far it seems like Battlefront 3 is just a shooter, where you very rarely ever get to be a Jedi or Sith 'cause some other asshole always gets it first. Let's hope EA puts in a game mode to be Jedi's and Sith's like Battlefront 2 had, but I doubt they will.. unless it's a big DLC.. which won't surprise me because EA are a bunch of money sucking bastards.

The battles in the prequels are more showy and fancy but lack the heart and meaning behind them in the original. Light Saber battles were unique and rare and not everyone and their dog had one, they still had mystique and appeal.

The battle between Obi-Wan and Anakin in the third movie is so long and drawn out it's downright boring to rewatch. I mean it was good at first, but when it gets to the point that they're swinging on ropes over lava and etc ... too much and too long.

I liked The Phantom Menace.

Attack Of The Clones is about average with a few high points and Revenge Of The Shit is shit.

Saber battles were on point in the prequels. Yoda vs Dooku was my favorite.

One of the few scenes in the prequels that stacks up against the OG movies. You finally see what a total bad ass Yoda is.

The Darth Maul/Qui Gon/Obi Wan fight is another high point.

But that's only due to the environment at the times. In the original series, lightsaber battles were such a rarity because there were only 5 people capable of it in existence (Luke, Yoda, Obi-Wan, Vader and the Emperor), the rest of the jedi had been slaughtered. In the prequel series, the Jedi were a lot more numerous around the galaxy, so of course there would be more battles.

I get it .... I just don't like it.

Outside of the first two movies (in terms of order of production), the entire series is vastly overrated. The story and the themes involved are poor. I would be shocked if the involvement of Disney led to any improvement.

The Phantom Menace is only good for the Pod Race and Fight at the end. Don't want to spoil it for you. It's been 16 years but hey you haven't seen them so I guess it's not out of the realm of possibility you don't know how TPM ends.

Attack of the Clones has some good spots and Revenge of the Sith has some okay moments too but overall they are very bland, boring talkative movies with characters just standing around in static environments or sitting on couches talking.

The prequels have no where near as much heart, whimsy or adventure as the original trilogy.

If you want to see a truncated version of the Pod race, here's a cool re-edit with some excellent Mad Max music.
