I just watched Star Wars for the first time.

The phantom menace was the best of the 6 films.

People shit on it because of their decades of building up expectations.

They focus on all the bad parts.

That would be because all it had was bad parts.

Pretty bad when all anyone can say when challenged on it's quality is:

"Well, uh, the speeder race was cool, and Darth Maul looked awesome."

It's a tragically terrible piece of shit.

Havent seen a single star wars movie. Been debating whether to watch them or not, but just havent felt like it. Spacey shit just isnt my bag I dont think...

Not bashing Star Wars btw. I downloaded all the movies, just dont have the will to set aside time to watch them.

I actually think Attack of the Clones is the worst of the 6, with 1 next and then a big gap to number 3 and 6 and another big gap to 4 and 5.

This is close to what I think. Although I would rate 6 closely to 4 and 5.

Seriously, fuck Attack of the Clones. I watched that shit as a kid and that was one of the first times as a kid I was seriously bored as shit and disappointed in a movie. Phantom Menace was pretty cool when I watched it in theaters but nowadays shit is kind of hard to watch. 3 IMO is not bad at all. It's not on the original trilogy level but it's not a disgrace either.

Pretty much. I was excited to see Attack of the Clones on DVD because I missed catching it in the theater. I think I cringed for about half the movie. It was one of the most disappointing movie experiences I have had. I think I had the same look on my face after watching the Red Wedding and Mountain vs the Viper on GOT.

No, just no. Clones was decent, I'd have a hard time picking between it and Sith, which had the ridiculous instant fall of Anakin.

No one should argue that Jedi is 3rd best and Phantom is 6th best. Though it may burn some people, I am taking Star Wars over Empire. Star Wars started from zero with no lead-in movie and left people breathless. At least people who saw it in first run and had no exposure to 80s-90s special effects.
