I don't understand Arlovski or the UFC's commitment to keeping him.

It's been several years now that I've viewed Arlovski fights as 'speedbumps'. It's really kind of amazing.

You can always count on a bare minimum performance from him that's guaranteed to last all three rounds and result in a 29-28 decision.

Part of me thinks that UFC matchmakers put together math that averages out the 'likely' length of a broadcast. In the event of a potentially 'fast' card, they toss in an Arlovski fight.

We can for one thing for sure say that Andrei Arlovski did literally OK in UFC. He never complained once about his salaries or even think about suing UFC for losing a fight.

Read between the lines man. For some reason, they're looking out for him. Rewarding him for his years of service and huge impact on the sport in his prime years. Who KNOWS why it's happening, but just let it be.

I'm surprised that nobody in this thread mentioned Erick Silva.

Connections with the Russian mafia most likely.

If I recall. I remember Andrei mentioning that one the main reasons he's held a grudge against Fedor is because after their fight, he (Fedor) began doing interviews with Russian journalists and media outlets, telling them about how important it was for him on a personal level (& for Russia) ko'ing a Belarusian.

Don't mean they aren't in the mob

He is a former champion. He was on a four fight winning streak, before he went on a three fight losing streak (currently).

It's pathetic that this completely shot Arlovski isn't getting blown away by primed up HWs.

Such a bad division lol

I think a combination of him being viewed as "loyal" and the HW division really lacking a lot of names.

The kind of guys AA has been fighting facing each other would probably not get as much hype as they do beating him.

I always root for him... a pioneer still in the payroll. Respect.

HW sucks, the fact Arlovski can still hang with young out of shape HWs at 44 is why he has a job there still.
