I believe that O’malley beats Merab

Merab embarrassed him last time and will again. I like Sean as a fighter but I think merab is just way better. I wish Sean would have had to fight Umar so we could see how that went before an immediate rematch off a 1 time defense against a barely top 10 guy

He was severely injured in their first bout. He even went to major surgery right after fight and basicly couldn’t wrestle whole camp. I think O’malley doesn’t just beat Merab on feet but also outwrestles him. He had his moments in first bout and he was only 30%. Merab is very good but when O’malley is healthy and on point he doesn’t just beat Merab but finishes him brutally.

So the striker outwrestles the wrestler for what could be 5 rounds? Pass whatever you are smoking. I want some of that.

He had his moments in the first fight, so maybe he can win this time. Maybe.

How can he dominate him again, when he didn't dominate him the first time?? It was a close fight that came down a very close first round. 48-47 is not domination.

While Merab had success in taking Omalley down 6 times, he also failed on 9 attempts. So Omalley's TD defense is not what you make it out to be. Merab had success early, and then Sean starting defending TDs very well as the fight went on. Round 3 he stuffed all 5 attempts.

You skipped the judge that scored it 49-46 ....

I think Merab overall did 'dominate' that fight in the sense that virtually the entire fight took place where and how he wanted, and Sean got very little offense off, and he's a striker by trade.

To your point I do think Sean is a live dog, and he's still getting better. Everyone should agree Sean has stopping power and he's a sniper. I don't know if he pulls this rematch off but I would bet money Sean wears the belt again in the next few years.

Sugar Sean would need to land something big …..out Wrestling Merab should not be the game plan

I think he's being underrated, I give him 40% chance at least due to his speed and accuracy

O’Malley did not come close to winning last time. Basically Sean could be perfectly healthy and know all the details of Merab’s game plan, but he’d be unable to stop the inevitable from happening. He’s not the guy.

Suga isn't outwrestling Merab. He's gonna have to KO him.

I was watching the fight where Omalley won two rounds and a had a very competitive first round.

What the fuck were you watching??
The one where he lost 3 rounds clearly and 1 round questionably

The score was either 49-46 or 48-47, but there was no fuckin way it was 47-48

I think realistically Merab is just the guy right now. He has exactly what's needed to dominate his division.

The score was 48-47. Who said it was 47-48??

Omalley won two rounds, round 1 was very competitive.

Point of what I am saying is that it was a competitive fight. You got this wise guy claiming it was domination.

The sentence "Omalley won two rounds and had a very competitive first round" means, we won two rounds and possibly a third, which would put it to 47-48

Well the UFC will exhaust every possible avenue to make sure he has the best chances. That's why he's getting an immediate rematch. Well immediate for him, not Merab, they will keep him working and risking injury and making him face quick turnarounds, all on Sean's schedule, to make sure Sean has the best chance he possibly can at winning.

Still don't see it happening, unless Merab is injured and the UFC takes advantage of that with the scheduling/forcing Merab to fight anyway, which is possible.

You don't realy think Sean O'Malley outwrestles Merab. Not even Sean O'Malley thinks this. You are just trying to be some sort of edgelord or something.

He could certainly do better against Merab than he did last time. He was having success with front kicks to Merab's body but for some reason he waited until 30 seconds before the fight was over to start throwing them.

Petr Yan was able to takedown Sean at will. Sean's td defense just sucks his hip injury doesn't excuse that. Merab is gonna dominate him again
Sean's wrestling was actually very good in that fight.

He defended well and when he was taken down, quickly reversed and Yan wasn't able to do anything with it.

If we were to point to a fight that shows his wrestling and TDD is poor, that isnt it. He was solid against both Yan and Aljo.

Comparatively speaking, he looked like a cripple against merab. Having that type of injury is death for being able to wrestle or grapple.

If it were any other card, he probably pulls out, gets surgery and reschedules

But he did the ufc a solid by staying on and saving the sphere card, probably got a nice pay bump to do it as well
