Ok so I used to play Halo a lot and I knew some of the professional players (yeah I'm a nerd). Anyways, I don't play anymore but I still get on the MLG (major league gaming) website occasionally to see whats up. SOOO I found a thread where someone said they needed to put muscle on, gain weight, and get strong and w/e, so immediately I am like "WTF would you post that in a video game forum." Then I read one of the very first responses that said:

    "Eat ALOT
Lift Heavy, focusing on the main lifts (Bench, Squat, Dead)
    Take a good vitamin
Eat 140 g protein a day (the kid weighted about 140 I believe)
Drink a gallon of water a day
Sleep 8 or more hours a day
    Don't overwork yourself"

I must admit that I was quite proud....

I hate you! lol... but I cannot deny my inner nerd. At least I can feel minutely manly that I lift and do MMA, as well as, all the nerd activities.

I've known quite a few people who had Nerd tendencies but were tough guys. I'm talking snipers who enjoyed a good game of D&D

It's ok chase I was a Halo nerd as well (until 3 came out and I decided I hated it :p). Glad to see the people on the MLG forums know whats up about lifting.

If you don't mind me asking, what were the names of some of the pros you knew?

^^ its surprising, but the top halo pros actually had >$1 million contracts! when you realize that most of them are still in college/highschool, that's damn good money

I used to play video games like the plague, now since I'm so used to a ridiculous schedule if I even try to sit and play even GTA for too long I get bored.

Pretty sure this is false. I remember at CPL a few years back the whole tournament purse for Halo 2 was only like 30,000.

It's definitely true - like I said, I was a big Halo nerd.

Gamers get $1m MLG gig - Xbox News at GameSpot

You can also go to mlgpro.com and read about it.

You're right that the purses are not that high (in US anyway) but the contracts are where they make the big bucks.

    stylish necklace though

Also, I used to enjoy WC3, TFC and a bit of SC when I was in my more focused days.

God knows I didn't have the energy to socialise
