I love DDL. He's my favorite actor. With that said though, I picked Deniro based on strength of his career and how amazing he was in Taxi Driver, Godfather, Goodfellas, Casino, Heat, Raging Bull, ect.

DDL matches him, maybe even surpasses in terms of ability, but RDN takes it because of the roles he had played

I love DDL. He is all I need to pay my money for a movie. Guy is a goddamn sexualt tyranosaurus of acting.

Bobby has slipped up lately. He's pretty much played every role he possibly could...twice, so we tend to think less of him these days.

But BobbyD is the kind of actor, if not THE actor that inspired DDL to be so extreme in his art.

Also, lets see DDL do a comedy.

I have to give it to De Niro. This is this.

DDL is brilliant, so nobody is going to run over him. On top of that, its very hip to love him right now. Give him a couple Ballads of Jack and Rose and he'll fall off a lot of radars.

I actually think that DDL is a superior actor, because he consistently makes films of a very high quality, while Big Bob has been guilty of taking the money and 'phoning it in, especially recently.

But I can only think of two DDL movies I actually enjoyed: Last of the Mohicans and Gangs of New York. Movies like My Left Foot, There will be Blood and In the Name of the Father bore me to tears.

De Niro has made the Godfather Part II, Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Ronin and Cape Fear, all films that I can enjoy.

Voted De Niro because imho it's like an half way beetween DDL and AP

DDL have more pure skill, variety is more complete
AP have more charisma, presence is more intense

RDN have both,less than them maybe but both things, that's why i voted him


But i admit, if was AP vs RDN, i will have vote Al, so my argument is bullshit, lol :icon_chee

Weird.

This is why I consider DDL the very worst of actors. He's been in one film his entire life, it's just got nine volumes and they're all called DANIEL DAY-LEWIS ACTS (AGAIN). I wish I enjoyed him more, but his overshadowing of everything else around him ruins the film. DeNiro knows he's in a film, DDL takes it on like life and loses both accessibility and entertainment. His films feel like lessons without meaning. Exercises. Hollow showcases.

Although one my favourite films is A Bronx Tale, directed by and starring De Niro.

This is where I'm at. DeNiro is still a bigger star in my mind because of his directing but, in terms of acting, DDL has a bigger tank.
