Hugh Jackman denies steroid use for Wolverine

He was probably using the old Clen/win combo in that movie. If you believe him you’re a rube lol.

I'm just pissed he isn't short, doggone it. And the spineless comics have made Wolverine taller in order to match the movies, the same way they made Fury black, etc. He needs the mask too, doggone it. And while we're at it, make Sabretooth his father who comes to beat him within an inch of his life and kill the woman he loves on his birthday every year, like Claremont originally wanted.

While we're at it, ignore everything that happened after like, 1992 or so in the comics when you're mining for source material.

Do all of that and maybe, just maybe, they will make an extra 10 dollars or so off of my viewership. MAYBE.

But most of all, just hire a short, stocky, rough sort of dude.
No, they didn't make Fury black to match the movies. He was based on the Nick Fury from the Ultimates line, who is black.

Yes, they did. Nick Fury in the mainstream universe was made black to match the films. He was basically replaced by a "Nick Fury jr.", a black son who we somehow never heard of before. And this decision was literally and purely to line him up with the movies. It wasn't enough, apparently, to have the Samuel L. Jackson version in the Ultimate universe. They had to make him black in the so-called 616 as well, just so that he looked more like the version they were trying to market.

But who really cares, because there's only one Nick Fury. The guy who served in WW2 as leader of the Howling Commandos, who can't stop chomping cigars:

The rest are just LMD's, probably created by Zodiac Cartel.

Thats pre disney so give him some slack.
Like I said, actually, Marvel literally deposed the real Nick Fury and replaced him with a black one in the mainstream universe just to bring him in line with the movies. They did the same sorta thing to comic-book Blade, who was never a "daywalker" and who was actually just about my favorite comic character. They had Morbius bite him and turn him into a vampire-hybrid that was, coincidentally, exactly like the Snipes version in all of his powers and weaknesses in order to make him just like the movies. Weak.

Just realized you accused me of watching Marvel movies. Harsh. Ultimates is just as bad as Disney in my book, though. I don't even like Ultimate Spiderman, aside from Bagley's art. Pre-Crisis DC and Pre-2000's Marvel is where it's at. Don't like the 90's Marvel as much, but they still had some great stuff.

Man you sound like a hardcore boomer… lol

The original Nick Fury is a fuckin’ fossil.. he was a dinosaur back in the 90s. The problem with that character is he is directly tied to WW2 and should be dead or near dead now that we are in the 2020s. He became irrelevant and was relegated to a support character long ago. Marvel already has Captain America and doesn’t need a 2nd WW2 hero brought to the present.

as for Blade his character evolution to Dhampir was good. And you are technically wrong because the first version of a dhampir Blade was in the animated Spiderman tv series in the early 90s. Then the 1998 movie version of Blade happened which became an absolute classic.

Nick Fury had the Infinity Formula bro. He basically doesn't age, like Captain America. That's what the Infinity Formual does, man. His age is kind of irrelevant, because he doesn't age. Regarding Fury being a fossil in the 90's, Nick Fury: Enemy of Shield was a huge hit in the 90's and was actually really, really good and in all honesty, the Captain America Marvel movies appear to have directly borrowed from it from what I can tell.

As far as the original, real Blade the Vampire-Slayer (because that's what he was called, long before Buffy), what was classic was Tomb of Dracula, one of the greatest horror comics of the 70's, where the protagonists fought an uphill battle against superhuman enemies that were stronger, faster and more powerful than them and also tended to multiply like crazy. Blade was cool because he was a normal human--other than his immunity to vampirism--who was fueled by his rage towards the vampires who took his mother's life, who was only one false step away from joining her. And he was a guy who endured real loss, along with the other characters from the Tomb of Dracula series; the good guys didn't always win sometimes they even actually died. Blade's original group of black vampire-slayers were all killed off except for a guy called Musenda, who ended up retiring anyways.

Anyway, honestly, I have nothing against anyone who loves Wesley Snipes' Blade, but nothing of what made the original version cool is present in his version. You took a guy who was the ultimate underdog and made him into someone who was basically an unstoppable juggernaut. And I definitely don't feel like they had to close the door on the original model in the comics by hamfistingly switching him into a replica of the movie version. Besides, if you're familiar with the comic Blade, he actually had a vampire clone anyways. It would have been easy work to spin that vampire clone into a version of Blade that was essentially the Daywalker, or to simply say that there was an unknown clone and make him into the spitting image of the Snipes character. They could've coexisted and it might've even been interesting.

Either way, people don't have to like all the same stuff. But the real Nick Fury is just way, way, way, way, way, way, way cooler in my book. Same with Blade. The 90's Spiderman cartoon was great though. We can probably agree on that. I personally like their treatment of Venom better than the comic, in that they set Eddie Brock up as a character before he became Venom, instead of just pulling him out of leftfield like they did in the comics.

It's all lies. They'll lose endorsement deals and stupid soccer moms will write letters.

Actors take roids.
Of course they do. But they don't compete in sports so who really cares. The annoying thing is that people ask the questions when they must know the answer. Christian Bale going from 120 or so in the machinist to 220 for batman in 6 months... prime example

Absolutely and quite honestly, who cares? It’s funny how the same puritan soccer moms who eat cannabis edibles like candy and will pop their friends Xanax when they’re “stressed out” would resort to pearl clutching over someone using steroids.

The steroid hate always cracked me up. If it’s in competition and you’re juiced but going against someone natty then that’s an issue, but if you’re using them to look good or to keep up with competition who is also using then I don’t see the big deal. You can get them from the doctor, they aren’t crystal meth.

The main thing that bothers me about juicers is how they assume anyone who achieves any modicum of strength must therefore have been on the sauce just like they were. It is kind of obnoxious. That and the whole cockiness some of them have. I dunno. I'm not a fan of it, but I definitely take your point. That said, do women really clutch pearls over steroids? I figured it was more so guys like me, that love working out but don't juice who tend to begrudge juicers, rightly or wrongly. I've never really heard women talk about it in the same way, except maybe a mom being worried that her son will take the stuff.

Not so much…but I’m sure if they found out they’d be like “such an awful role model”. We all have our short comings. I definitely don’t like the attitudes that are associated with it…but they are more of the minority than you think. I never used, but I was a competitive power lifter for years and knew many who did. Most of them were great dudes.

I don't know, I've worked out all my life and I've run into no shortage of juicers that irked me. Don't get me wrong, I've known plenty who were terrific guys and even the ones who irked me were often nonetheless people I'd call friend. But there are still certain aspects about the whole thing that do grate me. I probably have to agree that the real jerks are in the minority though. Almost certainly, I guess. But the jerks really stand out.

Steroids has a lot of negative press around it so of course he can't admit it. Entertainers want to avoid bad press at all cost. Then there's the thing about endorsements. People eat up how celebrities get into shape and if they found out it isn't possible naturally, nobody is going to buy those cheesy ass magazines.

Chael's point about the Turkish wrestler is interesting. He says the wrestler really didn't know he was juicing. His coach would massage a cream into his shoulder at the end of practice. He assumed it was Icy Hot or Tiger Balm. But, it was roids.

Let them juice..

I've never touched it but while fake nattys are annoying as hell steroids are illegal or shunned pretty much everywhere but the results they produce are glorified.. they really can't tell the truth even if they wanted to unless they're willing to lose something..

I find it more annoying when some fat lifter starts going on about how close they are to superhero physique if they would just lose 50lbs, shift focus to cardio for 6 months, eat clean and lay of the beer..

If my aunt had a dick she'd be my uncle and all that..

100% agree.
