No, they didn't make Fury black to match the movies. He was based on the Nick Fury from the Ultimates line, who is black.I'm just pissed he isn't short, doggone it. And the spineless comics have made Wolverine taller in order to match the movies, the same way they made Fury black, etc. He needs the mask too, doggone it. And while we're at it, make Sabretooth his father who comes to beat him within an inch of his life and kill the woman he loves on his birthday every year, like Claremont originally wanted.
While we're at it, ignore everything that happened after like, 1992 or so in the comics when you're mining for source material.
Do all of that and maybe, just maybe, they will make an extra 10 dollars or so off of my viewership. MAYBE.
But most of all, just hire a short, stocky, rough sort of dude.
Thats pre disney so give him some slack. No, they didn't make Fury black to match the movies. He was based on the Nick Fury from the Ultimates line, who is black.
Yes, they did. Nick Fury in the mainstream universe was made black to match the films. He was basically replaced by a "Nick Fury jr.", a black son who we somehow never heard of before. And this decision was literally and purely to line him up with the movies. It wasn't enough, apparently, to have the Samuel L. Jackson version in the Ultimate universe. They had to make him black in the so-called 616 as well, just so that he looked more like the version they were trying to market. No, they didn't make Fury black to match the movies. Like I said, actually, Marvel literally deposed the real Nick Fury and replaced him with a black one in the mainstream universe just to bring him in line with the movies. They did the same sorta thing to comic-book Blade, who was never a "daywalker" and who was actually just about my favorite comic character. They had Morbius bite him and turn him into a vampire-hybrid that was, coincidentally, exactly like the Snipes version in all of his powers and weaknesses in order to make him just like the movies. Weak.Thats pre disney so give him some slack.
Just realized you accused me of watching Marvel movies. Harsh. Ultimates is just as bad as Disney in my book, though. I don't even like Ultimate Spiderman, aside from Bagley's art. Pre-Crisis DC and Pre-2000's Marvel is where it's at. Don't like the 90's Marvel as much, but they still had some great stuff.Thats pre disney so give him some slack.
Why would you think a guy talking about Claremont-era X-Men didn't follow comics before...Disney's Marvel films anyway...? That really hurt, man.Thats pre disney so give him some slack.

jacked up white boys, deal with it.......actual superheroes?
Man you sound like a hardcore boomer… lol
The original Nick Fury is a fuckin’ fossil.. he was a dinosaur back in the 90s. The problem with that character is he is directly tied to WW2 and should be dead or near dead now that we are in the 2020s. He became irrelevant and was relegated to a support character long ago. Marvel already has Captain America and doesn’t need a 2nd WW2 hero brought to the present.
as for Blade his character evolution to Dhampir was good. And you are technically wrong because the first version of a dhampir Blade was in the animated Spiderman tv series in the early 90s. Then the 1998 movie version of Blade happened which became an absolute classic.
Of course they do. But they don't compete in sports so who really cares. The annoying thing is that people ask the questions when they must know the answer. Christian Bale going from 120 or so in the machinist to 220 for batman in 6 months... prime exampleIt's all lies. They'll lose endorsement deals and stupid soccer moms will write letters.
Actors take roids.

The main thing that bothers me about juicers is how they assume anyone who achieves any modicum of strength must therefore have been on the sauce just like they were. It is kind of obnoxious. That and the whole cockiness some of them have. I dunno. I'm not a fan of it, but I definitely take your point. That said, do women really clutch pearls over steroids? I figured it was more so guys like me, that love working out but don't juice who tend to begrudge juicers, rightly or wrongly. I've never really heard women talk about it in the same way, except maybe a mom being worried that her son will take the stuff.Absolutely and quite honestly, who cares? It’s funny how the same puritan soccer moms who eat cannabis edibles like candy and will pop their friends Xanax when they’re “stressed out” would resort to pearl clutching over someone using steroids.
The steroid hate always cracked me up. If it’s in competition and you’re juiced but going against someone natty then that’s an issue, but if you’re using them to look good or to keep up with competition who is also using then I don’t see the big deal. You can get them from the doctor, they aren’t crystal meth.

I don't know, I've worked out all my life and I've run into no shortage of juicers that irked me. Don't get me wrong, I've known plenty who were terrific guys and even the ones who irked me were often nonetheless people I'd call friend. But there are still certain aspects about the whole thing that do grate me. I probably have to agree that the real jerks are in the minority though. Almost certainly, I guess. But the jerks really stand out.Not so much…but I’m sure if they found out they’d be like “such an awful role model”. We all have our short comings. I definitely don’t like the attitudes that are associated with it…but they are more of the minority than you think. I never used, but I was a competitive power lifter for years and knew many who did. Most of them were great dudes.
