How was Edwards vs Belal NOT ruled a DQ?

MMA refs better start enforcing the rules, that was an EASY point deduction if it had been just a light eye poke, considering it ended the fight not sure a NC was the right call to be honest, having said that, pokes usually come from swinging the hands for balance or distance, not exactly (or allegedly) intentionally trying to poke them in the eye, but also note that a fight is rarely stopped by them, and even a point is rarely deducted by the first or 2nd eye poke...AC's need to do something, and im not saying changing the rules, the rules are fine, the refs not doing shit are the problem, of course Herb Dean was involved in two of them...

You don’t extend fingers towards your opponent

better yet...

You don’t lead combos with extended fingers towards an opponent

I understand if Leon did it defensively during a parry or to create space, but he INITIATED the foul. He literally ran at his opponent with a foul.
It WAS defensive though. Belal reached towards Leon, with his hand and fingers outstretched first. Don't get me wrong here, it wasn't heading towards Leon's face, I'm not accusing Belal of anything dirty, but Belal initiated movement/attack by trying to Parry Leon's hand, and Leon threw his hand out to parry Belal's read hand in return and lead it into the kick. And the kick is part of the motion of that hand, so your "he tried to follow it up with strikes" is incredibly misleading too.

I can't imagine a more biased way you could present the info than how you're doing.

What the fuck does this have to do with boxing gloves, piss belt?
Those who trained hard with boxing gloves and then transitioned to MMA gloves will understand.

Watch many fights and you'll see fingers out - some get away with no incidents, some don't.

You're drunk.

The fact that the fight was paused before and that he was warned calls for an automatic DQ

Agreed, but I'm not sure it applies here. If this fight WAS able to continue, no doubt there should have been a deduction. There should be more deductions for even lesser pokes for any fights that continue. Not sure I agree with the severity of the foul automatically equaling a DQ though because, even accidental fouls can get deductions, so trying to use the logic that a foul that WOULD get a deduction SHOULD be a DQ if they can't continue doesn't really match up. The only other logic that fits it is pulling the line of 'intentional' further over the line of 'accidental,' and although I think refs DO need to be more liberal with deductions, again, I don't think that dictates intention.

Thanks for proving that you're retarded. This was fully intentional. Go get banned again and make another account, weirdo.

One dumb dumb referee's brain works differently to another dumb dumb ref's brain.. They should just bring robot referee's in, and have all 5 dumb dumb's control the Robot.

- Previously warned to watch his weapons

- Led combo with fully extended fingers towards opponent

- Caused intentional serious damage with foul and tried to follow up blatant eye poke with strikes

Can someone please explain to me why this wasn’t a DQ... better yet how is Smokin’ Herb Dean still employed by the AC? That guy is a disaster.

Trying throwing a body kick with a clenched fist and see what it does to your balance.

Your hand naturally opens when throwing hicker kicks to help with balance.

Try it at home now

Ironically made this clarification some time after the Yan drama: even being warned and doing it again does not make it intentional. The problem in the Yan fight was the ref explicitly told Yan that Aljo was a grounded opponent and he still threw the knee. Since the ref told Yan the information to understand that Aljo could not be kneed and he still threw a knee, the ref decided that it was intentional. If you need a comparison to something real then it's like this: Yan was told by a police officer he can't walk on the grass and walked on the grass anyway. Leon Edwards forgot about a stop sign and ran it twice despite getting warned by a cop the first time. Whether they should have the same punishment is outside of this argument and would require NSAC changing rules

It is time to change the gloves, so we can get rid of al this shit shows

Yup, no more free passes, an eye poke should be an immediate point deduction, i mean, they know they shouldnt wave their fingers at their opponents face.

There's a lot of racist people on this platform I've noticed these past few weeks.
I can understand how, once one situation happens, people try to be upset the OTHER way because they think it points out hypocrisy: "This guy got fouled but I think he's at fault and got unfairly rewarded" and then go "Hey, the guy who did the foul didn't get punished, and I think he's at fault." I get the emotional outage, and that attempt at logical criticism, and I can't say it's automatically wrong, but damn does it raise suspicions when people change who to be mad at in a situation, and the common theme is skin color. Especially in a fandom as accepting of differences as MMA fans are...

Things need to be explained to you in circles, cuz you're Brasil Wand, aka, a fucking idiot, and I don't have the benefit of teaching you in person with crayons.

Edwards was previously warned for reaching. Then Belal reaches for Edwards' lead hand. Then Edwards reaches for Belal's rear hand. Both are legal moves. Edwards, however, reached for the rear, not lead, which is closer tot he face, and in being second, and both in motion, means he caught Belal in the eye.

Also, anyone who trains or fights, or even knows how to throw a 1-2, knows that there is a difference between a 1-2 and throwing a jab, then a cross. You can either isolate both motions, or you chain them as one motion. Same thing applies here. What Leon is doing here is leading his kick, which acts like a whip from the shoulder, with the use of an outstretched arm. It's not him deliberately trying to poke someone in the eye, noticing he did it, then trying to take advantage with a kick, as you want to make it seem.
It's actually a pretty routine motion, to either sweep their guard out of the way or push their head towards your kick. Or it can be done with a closed hand used as a standard cross-roundhouse.

Should refs deduct points more often for eyepokes? Absolutely. But points are also deducted for accidental fouls. And this was an accidental foul. Therefore, not a DQ.

Fuck Leon, he's an asshole. Lack's a professional's self control. That shit he pulled with Jorge was who he is, a punkass bitch.

More talking in circles like an idiot. Dude you’re looking more and more like an imbecile arguing for the mere sake of not being wrong.

The PROBLEM here is Edwards outstretched fingers with the foul that ended the fight, nothing more. That’s not a closed fist and your very last picture and every other one shows it.

Nobody cares about your cucksplaining, or your boxercise class at LA fitness... The ONLY issue here is Leon repeatedly stretching his fingers out towards his opponent, being warned to watch his weapons, and ending a fight with a foul he was previously warned for.

Stop the cucksplaining, stop bickering like a woman, just get to facts or go take care of your wife’s son. MMA is clearly over your head... do I need to teach you the difference between a fist and an open hand lol?

"Cucksplaining" twice. And hands over the ears bitching too? You're hitting me with some Classic Wand-y

You made several bullshit claims to support a point, I told you they were bullshit. You still have your point (the eyepoke and outstretched fingers) but you can't back it up with your fake ass logic and gaslighting. Did I say Belal didn't get eyepoked? No, cuz I don't say a bunch of wrong shit like you do.

Leon got warned for outstretched fingers in the first. Then in the second, an eyepoke occured. Absolutely worthy of point deductions, but doesn't make it intentional. Burn your cross on someone else's yard. Pretending you know shit about MMA when the very unified rules are past your understanding.

That was brutal, Rakic was sticking his fingers out the whole fight against Santos and he din't eyepoke him once, Leon has to work on that hes lucky he dint get DQ.
