how to order drinks from a restaurant

If you have to chase a shot you are drinking cheap booze. There is nothing wrong with cheap booze, don't get me wrong. But if you are going to chase it, then I don't see the point of paying for something higher end.

Oh, and to OP, if you like to taste you booze when you drink, order a double vodka/gin and soda or just order a vodka/gin martini. I guarantee you'll taste the booze in it.

All liquor is disgusting to me. I drink it to catch a buzz when I'm out so the weed doesn't make me quiet all night. If I'm at home all I do is smoke.

Beer is too filling for me to catch a buzz quick enough. Have to drink like 6 to feel anything. And by then I'm over it.

Jameson is by no means top shelf but I have no problem chasing it with a little coke.

Bartenders at restaurants are watched very closely. The liquor is counted very closely. Basically don't go to a restaurant and expect a strong drink.

Also a double isn't 2x the alcohol. A single shot drink is usually 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 ounces of liquor and making it a double just brings it to 2 ounces.

Just order a shot and a beer.

This.

Also don't worry TS, we've all had our stupid alcohol questions. You should have seen the look the bartender gave me the first time I ordered an old fashioned.

It was a sports bar, and I wanted it with my wings lol. She didn't know what it was.

whenever i order drinks from a restaurant, lets say a long island iced tea, its never strong enough for me. i dont drink very often but when i drink i like it strong, and usually i order drinks when i'm eating dinner with my gf. could i ask for extra alcohol/ an extra shot? and does top shelf help?

As someone whose fiance is a mixologist: never ask for extra alcohol. Ask for a double.

When it comes to alcohol, it really doesn't matter what you order.
You will not suddenly become popular if you order this instead of that.
The drink doesn't make the man.......................The man makes the drink.

What matters most is how well you handle your own consumption tolerance.
