How Much Does Your Gym Cost?

I live in Brazil where EVERYTHING is a rip off. I pay $120 for two times a week. Our instructor is a black belt. The other gyms in our city charge the same.

I want to take an in depth look at this.
Some things to post with your answer.

1st obvioulsly how much the gym you attend costs.

Just under $200/month.

2nd where is the gym located ( California will probably be more expensive than Montanna)

East of Houston, TX.

3rd Level of your instructor- If your instructor is a Gracie it might be more than a blue belt instructor (common sense)

Black belt is the main instructor. The other is a 4 stripe brown belt.

4th- Is your gym strictly BJJ? Some gyms do MMA on a couple days or kickboxing and BJJ every other day.

Mostly bjj with cardio kickboxing available. Also have access to the main school that has MMA classes as well.

5th How many classes do you get? If you are taking 8 classes a month it probably will be a lot less than a person who has unlimited BJJ, Judo, MT, MMA, conditioning etc.

My school has three jiujitsu classes Monday through Thursday and two on Friday. Cardio kickboxing is one class each weekday.

6. Please contribute any factors that you may feel are relevant to know. Maybe the cost is cheap because it just opened a month ago, or it is a very tiny wearhouse that the owner owns which makes it cheap, Or the contrary, it is 10,000 sq. ft, full of UFC fighters, and has 3 mma cages and 4 rings which is why it cost so much etc.

Part of one of the largest schools in the area and we have access to the other two as well. It's also the only school near me that has a good schedule, which is important because I do a shift work schedule.

Thank you all for your input. :icon_lol:

$100 per month
Sao Paulo/Brazil
3rd degree black belt, I guess/ a lot of BBs (Murilo Santana/Adriano Silva/Tiago Alves/Felipe Cesar Silva/Fernando Panza)
BJJ Mainly with some striking class.
Unlimited training, I train 4x per week.

Well, here in Sao Paulo this is the standard prize for a cool Gym. The structure is fine (only fine), but It's very small, what makes this place a cool place to train is that you always have a blackbelt to train with, saturday class you can count 20 or more. Noon class is room with murders.

$100 a month, no contract. Nogi erryday, the way I like it. Gi every night and morning.

Blackbelt instructor, we don't do stripes.

100 a month if 6 month contract, 120/month without. 75 or less to any military or police officer.

3 black belts, 4 browns handful of purplus who all love showing us white belts stuff during open roll.

2hr classes with open roll after M-F evenings. Other classes during the day icould never make because of work.

Augusta Georgia. I miss that place.
Currently rolling at grappling club at college for free. Just us students getting together twice a week. 1 purple, 2 blues, 2 whites, and maybe 6 newbies. Lot of fun still.

1. 80 dollars a month no contract
2. Colorado springs
3. Brown belt bjj / black belt 2 time olympian judo
4. We do jiu jitsu ever day 6-830/900ish there is judo 2x a week and kickboxing 2x a week
5. the reason it is so cheap is the owener is the bjj instructor and he is in the army and doesnt rely on the income to live and most of the students are in the army or the family members are

1. The equivalent to $60/month
2. Brazil

Blackbelt with direct Gracie lineage

MMA gym. Gi and nogi I think every day. Usually a morning and evening class.

Unlimited

The gym I go to is a Gracie affiliate. It seems to also be more geared towards MMA, the gi classes are sometimes smaller but it is nice because the instructor is very passionate about BJJ and he gets to help everyone out.

I pay 140 with no contract. You can get a contract and pay 100. I don't like contracts so the extra 40 is worth it to me.
