How good was prime Keith Jardine?

Only two fighters I've ever met in real life were Jardine and Rampage.

Jardine wasn't nearly as big as I thought and Rampage was bigger than I thought (huge head).

Tale of two worlds, everyone was crowding around Rampage.

No one recognized Jardine. I just said hi, thanks for the fights, and good luck in the acting career.

He was like an underachiever and an overachiever at the same time. Beat guys he probably shouldn’t have beaten, and got whooped by guys who on paper had no business beating him.

Yeah, I guess that was due to his odd skillset and style. One of the weirdest was him going 3 rounds with Mousasi and getting a draw (due to Mousasi losing a point)...then getting 1-punch KO'd by Rockhold in his next fight. Prime Rockhold had dangerous kicks but was never known for boxing or punching power.

Jardine did best against guys who didn't have heavy hands (Vera, Forrest, Bonnar, etc.). In those fights he was aggressive and could use his leg kicks and sometimes even grappling. I hated his last UFC fight vs. Matt Hamill, where Matt milked an eye poke which cost Jardine a point. Some thought Jardine won that fight IIRC.

When I was a teenager I was at my
Gf’s house, her dad knew I watched UFC but hadn’t watched Liddell vs Jardine yet, the fight had just happened and he recorded it. He asked me to predict who won, and if I got it wrong I would do the dishes, but if I won vice-versa lol. Needless to say I did the dishes that night lmao.
