How can this Paramount deal screw us over?

When does Paramount deal go into effect?

And if I have amazon prime I don't need to buy Paramount separately?

1/1/2026

If you have Amazon Prime, you can add the Paramount+ subscription right through the Prime app. You'll get charged the same amount as if you ordered it separately but the Prime app doesn't have all the glitchy shit so when you play your Paramount + content you're playing it through Prime.

I think it's a bit ridiculous that people feel entitled the share their passwords and get access from their friends/family members' accounts with streaming services. Could you do that with cable/satellite? Why do people feel they should be able to do this with streaming?
I don't have an answer to that question but will say that cable/satellite companies do allow some degree of sharing(via streaming). It's really intended to be used by you and your household when you're away from home, but I guess you could technically share it with others(typically limited to 5 devices/ip addresses at once).

I expect the price to go up shortly before or right as UFC starts becoming available. Or that you need to pay a separate added slightly more premium along with the regular sub to access UFC content and or numbered events.

I seriously doubt the $7.99/month basic subscription will cover all UFC events. They'll probably require some premium higher tier subscription. ESPN+ is jacking up their prices again too.

They currently have a offer $60 for whole year, no commercials plus showtime. If the ufc is included thats an insanely great deal.

Yeah, I saw that. I might take advantage of that offer. It's only $30 for a year for the $7.99/month plan.

After reading this thread I now have no desire to purchase Paramount Plus. I had no idea it was THAT bad  And I shouldn't have to spend money on yet another woke company to make sure the stream plays properly in 2025, that's ridiculous.<cruzshake>

They are offering 50% off for a full year right now. If you really think prices will rise, this is a great offer. I tend to disagree that they will raise prices early in 2026, because they are focusing on growth right now.

Paramount Plus slashes prices 50% with this fall deal — watch 'South Park,' NFL games, and more for just $30 a year

You guys are ridiculous...You must be complete noobs or bots. MMA/UFC fans that actually pay and watch fights have been wanting this for decades. This is what is wrong with the state of the world today. Trying to bring down and make everything negative or bad.. So sad and crazy. I feel bad for most of you people.

How the hell can they justify raising prices when they just lost the UFC? Did they gain something bigger?

The Skydance press release explicitly states UFC is included.

Who knows what happens down the road, but certainly at launch this will be the case. $60/year for premium is indeed a great deal.

The gateway to UFC cards and numbered events starts at $7.99 with a discount on a yearly deal. Even if you paid the entry level monthly cost, you're still paying only $20 more than a single UFC PPV on ESPN+, and you guys are whining incessantly about any little thing you can, even things that have yet to happen.

For decades it's been cumbersome and expensive to be a fan of MMA, from the regional scene to the UFC. We finally get a win as consumers and you're all crying foul. Wet blankets.

Paramount+ works fine. I've been watching NFL football on it live for years now.

I've never experienced a problem streaming Paramount+ honestly confused seeing people repeat that here. I wonder if its relative to their streaming device? We have a combination of Rokus and Apple TV.

You guys are like fucking women and exaggerate everything

Bruh

I've used Paramount+ quite a lot (through Amazon Prime), and the only issues I've ever had is that it occasionally goes to a blue screen when trying to resume a show, and I have to press the back button and try again. OMG IT'S SO BAAAAADDDD

Of number cards are on network CBS then its great just aint believing that till i see it

It's not everywhere. Still have to pay in Aus/NZ apparently.
They will just jack up Paramounts fees in some way.

I don't understand why the UFC doesn't;t just build up fight pass and offer a higher subscription for PPVs.
Cos Paramount is paying UFC to use their app
