How can this Paramount deal screw us over?

The gateway to UFC cards and numbered events starts at $7.99 with a discount on a yearly deal. Even if you paid the entry level monthly cost, you're still paying only $20 more than a single UFC PPV on ESPN+, and you guys are whining incessantly about any little thing you can, even things that have yet to happen.

For decades it's been cumbersome and expensive to be a fan of MMA, from the regional scene to the UFC. We finally get a win as consumers and you're all crying foul. Wet blankets.

Yeah but people steal everything now so they pay nothing so asking them to pay anything pisses them off.

But seriously yeah this is great for fans, dont see how it can be twisted to be a negative. Even if they up price of streaming service, which all of them do now anyway, 15 bucks or something to get everything and shows etc is great deal.

I already having it, watch Tulsa King and Dexter and Mayor Of Kingstown etc on it so now getting all UFC's too is great.

I never had issues with ESPN plus like alot of people but I'll be dumping that from my Disney bundle.

I’m expecting Paramount to announce that an account can only be used in one household, causing people to stop freeloading off others and get their own subscriptions. I know it’s not the worst thing in the world, since the subscription isn’t ridiculously price, but still a punk move.

Do you see them raising the cost on their subscription price? What else can you see them doing to make the UFC fans fork over a little more cash to make up for this deal?

I assume they will make the UFC events only viewable with the Paramount+ Premium plan like they currently do with Showtime. Then they will increase the price of a premium plan and make it not available monthly, but only as a year long subscription.

I'm thinking it will be at least increase from the current $12.99 a month price to $15.99 "a month", 12 months minimum for a total of $191.88 + tax. Then they will offer a discounted 24-month plan ($13.99 "a month" = $335.76).

If they don't, its a great deal. Pay $12.99 for the one big card a year that you want to watch in HD with the friends/family, cancel immediately after. Maybe they will jack up the monthly price but offer a larger discount for the yearly price to try to prevent this. Something like $29.99 montly, but if you pay for a year, its only $15.99/month for 1 year.

It still may work out for the UFC/Paramount, because the piracy is so prevalent. Might as well get something out the biggest cards, and there will be some people that don't cancel their plan immediately. Paramount+ will have to bolster their lineup of shows/movies if they want people to stick around though, its probably the weakest streaming service with the exception of Peacock.

Currently extra services like Showtime are behind the "Premium" plan. UFC events may be as well.

If it is indeed still $12.99 monthly or $79.99 yearly for the Premium plan, then that is still obviously a steal compared to the current model, but there is no telling what the pricing will look like come 2026 when the contract starts. You would have to assume that adding a new service like "all UFC cards" would warrant a price increase.

If they get a ton of new subscribers, they will definitely end up testing the market by raising prices until they find the breaking point.

Every streaming service eventually gets more expensive as it becomes more popular and costs go up through acquisitions or production. This is a given. Still, it has yet to. You're also assuming a great deal here, thinking it would be behind a premium plan/paywall before it's anything regarding this has been mentioned. People are looking for reasons to complain, going as far to involve things that don't even currently exist or that haven't been mentioned. Suredawg gonna Suredawg.

It's a good thing that streameast was taken down the other week. Surely everyone will be paying top dollar to stream every event moving forward right?

Cos Paramount is paying UFC to use their app
I get that and it's the same as why the WWE came back.

I reckon they could make more by really putting some effort into the reasonably solid app already.
I would be happy to pay a decent amount per month to have PPVs included, plus it runs better than the other services.

Paramount+ works fine. I've been watching NFL football on it live for years now. You guys are like fucking women and exaggerate everything. Maybe you need better internet.

Yeah, I’ve had paramount+ for years and never had any issues that my other streaming platforms didn’t also have. I’m excited because I won’t have to change a thing. I’ve fallen off a bit with MMA unfortunately, but this might actually light that fire again because it’s going to be so much more accessible for me now.

How is that a punk move by cracking down of freeloaders?

Raising the cost, I could easily see that. But chances are we are talking a few dollars to base a month at best. All these streaming services have continued to rise in cost.

The UFC like to break their own rules for superstars.

I could see them quickly setting up a PPV event on Paramount+ for Topuria vs Islam (assuming Islam beats JDM), claiming the fight is "too big not to be a PPV". Especially if they get big viewership numbers for the first few main UFC events on Paramount+.

We can only hope that PPV flops hard, and fans complain about being deceived that there would be no more PPVs on Paramount+.

Punk move because I’m freeloading and saving money. I’m just bitter at the thought of having to add yet another subscription to my life.

TKO is one of if not the greediest company comprised of scumbag pukes on Earth. Paramount is not much better. They'll find a way to screw us all.

Where did you come up with or get the term scumbag puke from?
