How big of a chance do you give Blaydes against Aspinall?

Blaydes, despite having won the first fight due to an unfortunate injury but had landed good shots, brings the challenge of wrestling, which Aspinall has not yet faced. However, so far no one has been able to even trouble Tom. So, I am very curious to see this fight and very excited.

I don't believe this fight is receiving all the attention it deserves, because it is a classic heavyweight clash, two great heavyweights who are fast, strong, and talented facing each other at their prime.

Blaydes doesn't mix it up well. Aspinall will be one step ahead of his takedown entries. Too fast and too sharp. It will look like the Pavlovich fight.

I know their fight only lasted 10 seconds before the injury, but Blaydes was able to land 2 very good right hands in that amount of time...

I give him a good chane at beating Aspinall.

Same odds as in every other fighter in a fight.

A puncher's chance... plus 5% extra being that it's a big HW throwing the leather. I think Aspinall's pretty hungry, and I think he's going to want to make a statement. If he puts Blaydes away emphatically, everyone will at least get to enjoy watching Dana and Jon squirm doing mental gymnastics trying to keep Tom away from coming for that belt.

I personally think Tom came out sloppy and rushed things way too much which is also why he got injured. I expect to see a more patient Tom this time around- keeping distance and bouncing around on his toes.

I’d say 50/50

Everyone is all over Tom‘s nuts lately, but I feel like he’s getting a bit overrated and starting to buy into his own hype a little. He just seems due for a humbling loss.

He might be a bit better than Blaydes but it’s HW.

Fight will depend on if Blaydes shows up mentally prepared and does the right things. If he does, the fight will be very hard for Tom. If he doesn't, Blaydes will do something dumb and lose himself the fight like we've seen every other time he's in a top contender fight.

asspenal has gotta convince blades to stand and bang without tasting the power (Brit’s are glass jaw’d). Easier said than done.

Something as slight as getting blades shook at the weigh ins could cause him to shoot. Brit’s have glass legs too apparently

30% I guess.

Blaydes is legit and he can actually strike. He has brainfarts all the time and bad fight IQ tho.

A sizeable one. Blaydes only has to "put it together" to really be a top fighter. The fact that he's faltered at the top so many times can sorta jade us into not giving him a chance, but he's got the skills to be a champion.

Blaydes is way overrated. He is basically your typical fat heavyweight except with good power and better fight IQ. Tom is better everywhere

Blaydes is a decent fighter. He just has bad luck. It's HW and everyone hits hard.

It would be interesting if he beats Aspinall. I wonder if people are going to champion Blaydes as the person to beat Jones.

Tom has superior technique and speed standing. He's also pretty damn good on the ground, although I don't know how he does off his back. The problem for Blaydes is that even if he takes Tom down, he has no sub game, so he's going to be dealing with a legit BJJ black belt who will at least know how to avoid the most devastating GnP and get back up. Combine that with Blaydes well known light switch chin, he's gonna be a big underdog.

I think Aspinall is too fast and explosive to be taken down by Blaydes, at least in the first 2 rounds. I guess it will look like the Pavlovich fight.

Aspinal dumps on him in the striking department.

I give gim 15%

50-50. Either he takes his ass down and has his way or he does not.

I'd say 65-35 Aspinall - Overall he has a serious advantage between the speed of his footwork, the power he knocked out Pavlovich with, and the BJJ skills he subbed Volkov with. But Blaydes has better wrestling, improved striking, and is generally huge and physical so he's got a chance

Overall I don't think the first fight says anything about the rematch

I'm not even convinced Blaydes is the better wrestler...
