Homegym MEGA Thread

My gym started in a warehouse (20 foot ceilings, massive space). I lasted the spring, summer and fall. When winter hit, I tried using heaters to at least warm up the plates and barbells but it wasn't worth it, I dreaded exercising in subzero temps. Wearing more clothes only helps so much.
Ended up moving my gym to an unused office in the same warehouse. Still no heat or running water but a much smaller space and I can get it to 10-15 degrees (C) in the middle of winter if I heat it up for a couple hours. Now it's the summers I dread.
We hardly get a winter , still in shorts and t-shirt most days. It'll drop below freezing for a while then back up in 60-70s. It's still hard to move and stay motivated when it's around the freeze point, couldn't imagine below 0. In trade we get 3 digit summers for extended time. You sweat as soon as you step foot out of air condition. Can't workout in the sun because it heats the equipment and turf up too hot to touch. Much prefer sweating profusely and leaving a trail of work juice across the floor over shivering in a ball.

I'm not sure where you are but our summers get quite hot here too. But not like the south. I had a tournament in Alabama this past summer ... that was something else.

A lil bump in the Home Gym game for Crandall Fitness. They have been expanding like crazy and have great color selections on bars and benches. Arsenal really took off end of last year, commercial grade at our price point.
Got picked up as an affiliate. Sharing the love here.

Be after a camo bar soon.

Like the prices on the Crandall weights.
I have a Titan T3 series with extension kit and some accessories like lat tower, dip station, and box jump station (never use). Also have their hex bar and a couple of different farmer's walk implements. I am very happy with my Titan equipment.

My only complaint about my home gym is my ceilings are 8ft, so I get popcorn in my forehead when doing pullups.

My new house (to move in in 15 days) has a sauna. And I'll be building a home gym in that 'wing' of the garage.

Super excited, although not for the mortgage.
Ha sounds great, roughly whereabouts mate?

They weren't scared to go bright and vivid with the color schemes for sure. Plates are pretty tame after you see some of the bars.

Titan seemed to play the IDGAF card last year. Didn't do any marketing, no new product teases, huge price increase, got bashed for it, increased prices again. Bells is going to leave them in the dust this year.

Just had an idea for a new type of bar – a cambered deadlift bar.
Think of a hybrid between a trap bar and a straight bar.
Handles around 45 degrees, a few inches of offset to clear your knees and allow the weight to sit further back relative to your body but not as far back as a trap bar.
Might let that idea stew a bit and then try to weld one up.

I bought my stuff right at the beginning of COVID, so got them when they were still nice and cheap :)
I will check out Bells for when I need some new gear, thanks for the tip.

Now you made me randomly have mouth breathing thoughts on how to make a straight bar with 45* handles , where the weight is on side of body instead of front. Can't figure out how to make the bar pull without rocking.

I am jealous of you fabricators. I am considering adding a wall mounted pulley tower, but bolting it to the wall could be a challenge for me. Also have to find a place to put it too.

Well the weight needs to be centred on the handles. I’ll sketch something up.

That's why I stuck it a few feet behind the door. Its out of the way & nothing else fit there. Guess that's why the functional trainers are all corner designed
