We hardly get a winter , still in shorts and t-shirt most days. It'll drop below freezing for a while then back up in 60-70s. It's still hard to move and stay motivated when it's around the freeze point, couldn't imagine below 0. In trade we get 3 digit summers for extended time. You sweat as soon as you step foot out of air condition. Can't workout in the sun because it heats the equipment and turf up too hot to touch. Much prefer sweating profusely and leaving a trail of work juice across the floor over shivering in a ball.My gym started in a warehouse (20 foot ceilings, massive space). I lasted the spring, summer and fall. When winter hit, I tried using heaters to at least warm up the plates and barbells but it wasn't worth it, I dreaded exercising in subzero temps. Wearing more clothes only helps so much.
Ended up moving my gym to an unused office in the same warehouse. Still no heat or running water but a much smaller space and I can get it to 10-15 degrees (C) in the middle of winter if I heat it up for a couple hours. Now it's the summers I dread.
