Homegym MEGA Thread

Cool Stary Bro ,
A kick ass short story of some excellent customer service, or a sneaky sales trap. Either way, I tip hat to the power move.
As mentioned a couple times SFE has great deals on cardio and gym equipment, it's 1st place I check when someone mentions treadmill interest. Have been 'kind of ' in the market for a curved motorless for a while. Well they have their version on sale, I put it in cart to check final price then removed it because there's a Pro version with resistance breaking system. Added that one in but it busted the bank.
I put the standard model back in cart. Then jumped in truck to go to church fair with kids. Get a phone call, and Sports Fitness shows on Caller ID. Super nice guy saying he saw my interest in equipment and seeing if there was any questions. Told him it was a big purchase and I was on the fence. So he said how bout I take another $200 off the price you have in cart, throw in large treadmill mat and 50lb adjustable dumbbells no charge? Buddeh, you have my attention
Should be here in next week or 2. <45>
Never had a company call to see what else they could do or help you with, without even contacting them.

Not Cool Story Bro ; Part 2
The Royal Fk Up

Quick cliffs directly related to above purchase:

Delivery was very fast. Freight truck called me yesterday for delivery time. I live on a tiny private road, he had to back all the way down and was not attempting to get in driveway. Dude was cool AF too.
Had to unload and push/drag this heavy MFer down gravel.
Crate opening time.
Pry bar and screw driver to get brackets off. Open lid..... annnddd it's not my treadmill. Its someone else's really , really expensive incline trainer. And it's not the 300lbs I expected, this one is 575lbs.
Called customer line to give heads up. There was panic and instant realization. Apologies and another truck will be there with yours and to pick up other one. You don't have to worry about anything else sir.

?1? It's 3xs the price of mine and I don't want it. Could have been a great accident. Will continue to be cursed by equipment delivery issues.

Should decorate it like a coffin for a couple days while it sits out there in remembrance.

Do any of you guys use a rack-attached belt squat gimmick? I understand they're not as good as something like a SquatMax or Rhino, but wondering if they fall into "not as good, but still a good piece" or "lousy and will cripple your stupid ass." I like the idea of having a squat alternative so I can get more work in without another day of having the weight on my shoulders again.

Have a homemade one with square tubing from lowes. It does work for accessory or burnouts. Kinda a pain to set up, stack plates, then pick it all up. But if it was on a quick insert pin, would use it alot more. I guess the weight feels like 50% of a bar on the back? Except it's pulling down on hips. Bonus points for heavy weight digging chains into thighs.

I was looking at the Fringe Sport one and wondering if it was worth it, since it's pretty affordable. Especially compared to the big pieces like the Squatmax

GGR did a review on that one not too long ago. You may have seen it, but I'll link it anyway. He mentioned that Signature Fitness has a version on Amazon for $70, but I'd probably still go with the Fringe Sport.

Thanks, that's what caught my attention. I don't have the room for a dedicated standalone piece at the moment. Looks potentially promising.

I reviewed the signature fitness one in my thread. More to come on it and the wagon wheels soon

I bought a heavy duty dips belt with chain for weights. Got some blocks to stand on and it's a belt squat. I love holding onto the cage whilst squatting!

I use it for higher reps and the bottom part of the ROM.

I've had decent luck with Rogue's boneyard in the past so I ordered a pair of their deep dish 45s and they came in today. Looks like 3-4 thin scratches on the back are what landed these in their boneyard. Weight on both was 45.2lbs. I don't care too much about the looks, but I already had two pair I bought off marketplace and I do like having matching plates. Deep lip makes them easy to haul around and I saved about $70. Almost want to order another pair, but with bumpers I have 18 45lb plates so it's a tad unnecessary.

You have any experience with Valor? Considering a completely unnecessary seated row machine. Valor has one for $356 while Walmart has a similar version for $309. I assume both are coming from China, but is there anything that would make the Valor version worth the extra $50?

They are all copy/ paste out of same factory. The Syedee, is the GDLF, is the Gymax, they are now putting out Titan replicas for hundreds cheaper. I have the Valor Yoke and it is rock solid, very heavy and well built. Had the seated bi/tri machine and it was also well built, I just sold it to make room for something more useful. Valor is Florida based and very military / veteran supportive. That would be your only bonus, they do support the troops and give back to military.

I like the competition and spotlighting Titan's constant price hikes.

Sad part for Titan is that a "company" like syedee is actually putting out better products. The seated row from Titan has both handles as one piece so you can't do single arm movements. The syedee and Valor ones have separate arms with rotating handles.

Had eyes on a few of their pieces before deciding to exit off the body building and going back to bags and gymnastics. The chest press and seated row. Small footprints and good prices, they don't quite have commercial grade so it's in our range without an overbuilt large machine. Unsure why their bumpers have always had premium prices, never considered them for weights.

If anyone has two girlfriends that need to get jacked Rogue has their stainless Bella bar two for the price of one. Same for 28mm training bars. They actually have some pretty good discounts going on a bunch of their bars.

I see the public going hard at a couple names who " use to do 6 plates, now they struggle with 4"

The BF sales are lighting up , just about every brand has sent teasers or started sales. Tax returns need to come in November .

What’s the best neck harness for a reasonable price?
