Rand Paul has strings too, doesn't he?

I'm sure he does. I'd be surprised if he won though because his voters are a little unruly.

If he did win, things would get very interesting.

I have followed a couple of scenarios in which he will win, in that it may signal the desire to switch over to a gold standard in USD. With China and Russia looking to back theirs, and the USD possibly losing its global reserve status, it's a possibility. All coordinated by the international bankers of course, but Paul would be a good choice to oversee that to give his voters a false sense of hope by making it appear that he was 'getting things done'.

i think that obama being black was the tipping point that gave him the victory. of course, the, "anti-bush" folks also played a part. but as the campaign continued to move forward, the media started playing up obama's race, and how, "history" is potentially going to be made. part of it was the anti-bush sentiment, like mentioned. but a lot of people wanted to break the white-stronghold in the white house, as a sign of the entire world moving past race. ironically enough, it was that very thing that gave obama the presidency.

and with hilary clinton, people are going to want to do the same with a woman in the white house. i would bet that most women in the u.s. will vote for a woman candidate.

in the end, it's a popularity contest.

Obama did get more people out to vote but then again some of that can also be due to Bush presidency and Palin as VP.

I don't think Obama being Black was the tipping point, rather antipathy towards Palin and retaliation for the Bush Administration + Obama was anti Iraq war before it was fashionable to be so.

People say she was president before, being the brain of he husband.

I couldn't agree more. But I am predicting Hilary on the basis of Gender politics and the glass ceiling angle.

Those angles will certainly be employed in the campaign and Feminism is very hot right now.

I'd put a friendly wager on either Ted or Jeb though against Hillary because

1) Dems have already been in two terms.
2) Obama Hope and Changers may be a little disillusioned by now
3) Hillary is straight up globalist (there is no change with her)
4) J&T have Hispanic credentials and the campaign could use that to tap into the fastest growing demographic

Remember the list of 100 people that the Clinton a supposedly killed?

Clinton's took out many in the 90's who stood in their way of Bill.

But same can be said with George W. in the 00's....and even Barry Soetoro.

I'm sure it's been going on a lot longer then that, those are just the ones I remember since following politics.

I'm not American, but do you really think your country is ready for a republican yet? From what I've read Liberals still bring up Bush a lot.

I'm not American either! I'm next door to the North (oh you are too). The US is the current heart of the empire so it's the most relevant.

There will always be left-right bashing. I don't know if bashing Bush will work since it's been 8 years, but I'm sure that card will be in play.

Are you ready to see Justin Beiber/Timberlake/Trudeau to be elected PM? Seems he's been the CBC media darling for awhile now which could be an indication that he is the next muppet.

Oh I should add, that I think they will want a Republican in power if another war is scheduled. Especially if it's going to be a Zio-War (Lookout Iran!)

I'm not sure if he will get in. He's too honest and inexperienced. Up until now he had never even had a full time job. He was a part time dram teacher. Also, most of the voting demographic in Canada is older folks that vote conservative so I'm not sure if he can get in on media support. And i don't see him doing well in the debates. It's too bad we don't have a good Liberal candidate because I'm really sick of Harper.

I don't think they need a Republican for war. Hilary will do just fine. This is a women whose policies destroyed several middle eastern countries already. This women is crazy.

The only way Hilary doesn't become POTUS is if either:

1. Another shutdown or recession makes the Dems look incompetent. However the latest govt shutdown resulted in worse polls for the GoP than the Dems anyway.

2. Condoleezza Rice comes out of retirement and rides a wave of publicity, affirmative action and political nostalgia all the way to the Oval Office.

Outside of these, Clinton is gonna ride that wave all the way to 2020s.

Haha, imagine 2020 election, (Hilary) Clinton vs (Jeb) Bush

But compared to whom? I don't think the GOP can run anyone to beat her, I don't think the country will elect another Bush, the first one was an okay president but not great, the second was the worst in history. Meanwhile Clinton was a great president, and Hillary could easily spin it as we are returning to the Clinton days, which most Americans remember fondly (fondle pun intended).

She has a lot of controversies around her... Who would I pick over her? Not sure? Someone who doesn't claim to land under sniper fire, when they were clearly not. Benghazi? Email issues?

These are none issues for the election. That's a part of the problem with people opposing Hillary, they are not grasping how little these things weigh in the mind of everyone else. Move on from that, find issues with her that matter, and have an opposing candidate that is even slightly moderate. Then there will be a slim chance she doesn't run away with it.

I think the crisis tarnished the Bush name more than the party. The party has done a lot of stuff since then though to hurt their chances of taking the WH though. I'll give them credit that they won back the Senate. Four years ago, I wouldn't believe they did this well.

I honestly cannot see a Republican ever becoming President until they modernize some of their policies. Keeping their ass-backwards policies in order to appeal to their base is alienating many of the voters that could put them over the top. At least that in my opinion, I don't really follow politics all that much. Too much hot air, not enough substance.

That being said, I'd like to see Cruz win just for the comedic factor.

Oh I don't find him honest at all. He's a smooth talker that says the right things to the right people using slogans and buzzwords a lot. I don't find him sincere whatsoever. I get the used car salesmen vibe big time.

You could be right that he is too inexperienced but the same was said of Obama and look what happened there. I think it's just a matter of time for JT.

Yeah Harper sucks, but I find that we are in the same predicament as the US in which all parties work for global players for a global agenda. Canada is just along for the ride.

Dude, you're outing yourself here. No way you really believe that stuff.

I have a difficult time swallowing that pill for Canada. I realize there are serious problems with our Government but I don't think our parties are totally controlled by any kind of globalist agenda. The NDP certainly aren't.

The Harper government tried to back door privatized prison system but it didn't happen. He went against the UN and paid for it, and his government was totally out played economically. Harper thought if he played nice the Americans would have our back. Well, he was very wrong about that. The Americans have always screwed us.

I give Rachel Maddow credit for cleaning out Hillary clock today. She compared Hillary to Ted Cruz and Rubio mostly Rebio. In Rubio's and Clinton case they both seeked campaign donations ahead of their announcement. This announcement was to their biggest donors the bundlers not average donors. Ted Cruz was able to raise 32 million mostly from a single New York party. It's sad and disgusting.
