They really dont, only CSAC reports actual purses, and they can probably still pay more without the need to report it, i think Islam got less on purse alone than Merab who was fighting in the same card, if, and there isnt really any IF´s regarding location, this fight would happen in Las Vegas, they dont report purses and less taxes (afaik, im not from the US), or, unless they get Saudi money to pay for it, then they would have it over there in the middle of the day here and bombing on PPV as per the usual Saudi fight, but they wouldnt lose money on it, Saudi will, if they do that.I understand what you're saying but there is a huge downside... the UFC reports fighter pay and when you grossly overpay a fighter to show up you have just raised the bar for every fighter after that.
For context Jones wants 30 million for this... a bit loftier than just 5 plus points.
I would consider fair effort anything above 10mill + PPV
That fight probably did alright for the UFC and Jones didnt demand anything special, this one, he knows his legacy is actually in danger against Aspinall and he trully doesnt want the fight unless he gets crazy money, im not sure where he said the $30million number to be honest, i think it comes from some Wilder related comments about getting "boxing money".I chalk up the gifted Stipe defense as the UFC's opportunity to take an L by putting some money in that. If Jon didn't get bonused for that, then he missed his chance, time to fight again for the standard fare
Im not sure the UFC would give him a cent, they dont like to pay fighters that get fights canceled at the scale, let alone pay a guy for doing nothing, while well, there is NOTHING he can do but sit and wait, Aspinall cant go fight Ngannou or anyone else, not the UFC.They’re giving Tom 250k checks to sit on the sidelines and we already know that Jones makes bank every fight. Everyone honestly is probably just tired of the shit at this point UFC included.
