I want the US military to be feared worldwide not a social experiment. I want the standards held up anf the best people we can get for the job doing it. I don't care about their race or sex as long as they are physically and mentally fit to do the job required.

Do you really care if a General is a little overweight then? Should we throw away 30 years of honed expertise for that reason, when they’re at an age and position where they aren’t going to be fighting on the front line anyways?

Definitely get being a good example to, but the fact is a lot of generals aren’t out there inspiring troops to perform anyways. That’s power level command that keeps their troops in shape. That’s exactly why we are hearing this speech from Pete- because all of his experience is at the lowest levels of the military.
