Can you imagine if they sent a social worker to a 911 call instead of police and they got stabbed!!!

where is he blaming social work in particular??? I believe what he was suggesting is that social workers cant replace cops.....a good way forward is to figure out a strategy that encompasses both......I entirely agree

The whole reason he is taking that asinine stance is that he didn't read the article, assumed the social worker was dispatched (as has been discussed here and elsewhere), was proven wrong when it turned out she did this during ordinary (for her) work procedures, and is now doubling down so he doesn't look like even more of an idiot. Which is ironic because the opposite is actually the case.

what difference does it make? the story completely highlights how social workers are not equipped and/or trained to deal with dangerous offenders on their own.......

one of my best friends manages a couple of houses that shelter special needs people ...the violent offenders we'll say.....about once a year one of them gets a hold of some woman((or beta male that is in over his head)) and brutalizes them....they cant use violence against these people and can only work to mildly subdue them, thats the nature of the game

people need to realize that just because youre smarter than someone and possess the tools to diffuse a situation psychologically.....the recipient of your attempts may not be so inclined as to be dissuaded and crazy/retard have the strength of 10 .....thats a bad combination for little women to be in...especially because the lack of physical presence ((man or woman)) pretty much incites them further

Can you imagine 8am on a bussy Monday at the office pantry and after you poured coffee on your mug and put and added powdered cream and sugar you realized the idiot custodian did nit plugged the perculator in?

It's not. It was a social visit, something that is routine. I don't remember people caring about social workers getting murdered/assaulted before 2020.

She answered a call about a man with mental illness. He ended up stabbing her to death.
Honestly this was a bad way if doing things and we all know it. Unsupported? There's a better way and it's like they're doing the opposite on purpose

Well, you are THAT guy. Read the article, and read the thread. This was a normal social worker, doing normal social work, just like thousands of other social workers around the country.

Just like folks shouldn't set cities on fire because a tiny fraction of police interactions turn out badly, their opponents shouldn't be all like "all your dreams are lies" because a social worker gets killed in her line of duty.
