My Sister-In-Law lost a home, and my Nephew lost a house in Pacific Palisades in the fire. I spent many holidays and special events there... it was a beautiful neighborhood... what a bummer.

Perhaps the Democrats can build some high-density housing where those who can't afford to rebuild have to sell?

You could afford it and you did it, absolutely nothing wrong with it. People point their guns in the wrong direction, usually at those who are easier to target despite not being the problem. I rent here, my landlord owns over 40 rental properties in a small city. Must make a fortune ad they're all converted into 6-apartment buildings. Even during the cost of living crrisis we've had in the UK never raised my rent once. And he could've several times with justification from his side but not mine. 5yrs I've been here and my rent has never increased once. He's not ideal, he has his flaws but he's swimming in cash I'd imagine so just leaves us alone.
