What sucks for him is his daughter surely knew this guy was 20 years old and found him attractive and consented. But current laws it is statutory rape.

Shooting was indeed gang related. Funeral was for a gang member killed in a drive by, that drive by was a retaliation for a shooting this guy was a suspect for.

Police even preemptively had two squad cars stationed at the funeral home to try and deter a strike, and had a tactical team deployed nearby to respond. But the suddeness and speed of a drive by makes them popular with gang activity for a reason, so police were not able to stop it even with being prepared.

The style of policing we currently use is reactionary. The only deterrent we have to stop something before it happens is with high visibility police presence. Obviously they didn’t care, we saw multiple other districts in Chicago deploy similar strategies that also yielded negative results. Even in the business district with 2 cars patrolling the river walk they still had a shooting which led to a homicide there. It’s open season in Chicago since they know the probability of being stopped on the way to shoot is almost zero.

Dude finds a 20 year old in his 14 year olds bedroom and whips his ass. Now he's charged with aggravated assault.

He did beat the dog shit out of this guy, knocking several teeth out and choking him. The 20 year old has been charged with child molestation.

Are these justified charges? Would you do the same under the same circumstances?

You left out that the father fired his gun in the direction of the molester. He probably wouldn’t have caught charges if he didn’t discharge a firearm, but you can’t really ignore that.

I mean, the court can’t directly endorse vigilante justice, but it can absolutely take into account that a crime was being committed and the father was acting in defense of a child. He should face a punishment, since
It sounds like he took it pretty far (he went outside and fired off some rounds from his gun), but it should be a slap on the wrist when compared to the punishment for attacking somebody unprovoked.
