Movies Have never actually seen Predator 2

I’m prolly one of the few that enjoyed Predators.

Had such a good cast as well for an action movie, but I was so let down

I do need to watch it again though

Good movie, good characters, funny, violent, great mood/setting. It's pretty damned good. Danny Glover, Gary Busey, Bill Paxton, Jamaican gangs, frickin' Morton Downey Jr, lol. Wtf more could you want?

Some of the action scenes get a little corny, but that's life.
I always confuse predator 2 with surviving the game cuz of Gary busey

I like it a lot. Predator is a better movie, but I've always thought P2 had more replay value and I've seen it way more times than I have the original. My favourite thing about P2 is the setting. You get a strong sense of LA being this nuclear hot, sweaty, borderline apocalyptic battleground full of brutal violence between Jamaican and Colombian drug gangs. I saw it first when I was like a 10 year old kid who didn't know much about America and so I ended up being pretty surprised that LA wasn't actually like that (Seeing Clueless was a big eye opener)

Zer hits the nail on the head here. The setting in this movie in incredible. I enjoyed the first one better obviously but this one is still enjoyable cause the predator is in the city now.

I also thought the ending was the best predator ending by far.

As long as you don’t get your hopes up that it will be as good as the first, you will probably enjoy it. The original is king, but the sequel gets credit for being so wildly different from the first one; they tried to do something original, instead of just making a shitty copy of the earlier success. Fun watch with some great moments.

The way the predator looked hurt the movie a lot for me

What the hell is that?

The subway attack scene was really cool though

I'm a fan of all Predator movies, and Alien movies, and combined franchises.

Predator 2 was great. Danny Glover was a good rival in this one. I enjoyed it a lot, particularly the first massacre scene when that girl is banging out the boss in the skyline penthouse, and Predator comes to hunt. Also loved the ending with multiple Predators.

Predators was awesome too. I liked the concept and would like to see more of that hunting ground and history. My favorite scene in that movie was the classic, moonlit grassy plain duel between the Yakuza and the sword claw Predator. Fucking epic!!! In fact, my future want for the installment would start with the Yakuza waking up in the day light, having survived the duel.

It's not as good as the first but I think the hate for it is undeserved.

Many great things about the film:
Danny is great in it
Shows more of the predator and added more to the lore that fans loved(net gun, hunting disc, etc)
Great urban setting imo
Gave us the Xenomorph easter egg.
Gary Busey and Bill Paxton...nuff said.

Imo underappreciated.

Echoing a lot of what other posters have said: It is under rated.

Ders no stoppin what can' be stopped.
No killin what can' be killed.

Its not brilliant but it does kind of act as a fun greatest hits of 80's action, Lethal Weapon, Aliens and Running Man characters hunt The Predator.

From the same time I'd also recommend Robocop 2, much better than its reputation suggests.

I think that it is in some ways a better movie. The first movie was a action movie that slowly changed into a simple monster movie as it progressed. You don't even realize you are watching a monster movie when it starts out. You think you are watching a movie like Rambo or Commando. Not that that was bad but the jungle offers very little in terms of interaction. When they shot the movie, they had to chop down the jungle to thin it out because dense jungle is boring. It is just a wall of plants and you can't see anything. It is a very good movie. It is paced much slower than Predator 2. People forget how slow the first one was. The second one was more open, introduced a lot of more interesting people and ideas, and the concept of a hunter hunting in gangland LA is a neat concept. This is the difference between the two movies:

Arnold plays a super hero military specialist. A real bad ass.

Glover plays it straight as a competent cop way over his head.

Which one does a kid want to be? No one wants to be a middle aged cop who isn't a killing machine.

That is why Predator 2 gets dumped on when I think it is a more watchable movie. I don't say that as implying the first one is bad. I always am surprised how good the second one is when I catch it on cable.

If Arnold had been in the second movie, or the second movie had been made first, I think people would have liked it more.

Better than Predators but failed to live up to the first.

P2 is fine though. Should entertain you just fine. I believe there's a 4K scan now.
