Only thing I remember from my original viewing is that it was the first time I saw the cowgirl position. I missed the alien skull reference, only learned from it a couple of years after from Wizard magazine.

For the record I think that Robocop 1 holds up well. Saw it a few weeks back and can say it’s pretty good even in 2020. But the second one is bad and the third is....well we don’t talk about the third.

I'm guessing that mostly dates from the time and really no 80's style action tended to get the credit it deserved.

At the time I spose you could argue there was some fatigue for this kind of cinema as well which perhaps the film itself semi acknowledges by being such a mixup of other similar films from the era but in retrospect your really talking quite a short time, less than a decade when this kind of stuff was being made.
