In hindsight everything appears super obvious.
One successful operation doesn't preclude oversights with another. There was a certain level of complacency and yet it's still a long way to claim that IDF knew a year in advance or that they orchestrated the attack.
Look at the terrorist attack in Russia last year. Did Russians intentionally wait hours to go in?
Sometimes it does take hours to properly recognize the totality of situation, assemble the necessary assets and respond. Real life is not TV/movies.

Trump is a deal maker. Netanyahu/Miliekowsky does not want to have a deal for the hostage. He wants the illusion that he wants to have a deal. Trump wants a real deal and is calling his bluff.
Trump looks at his best interest, aka ending the conflict to bring peace to the region and do business with Arab country. Also get the Abraham accords going again.
A deal demands sincerity and compromises. Two things Miliekowsky clearly never had.
Biden wanted to be cucked by Bibi. Trump wants to do a deal. All the genocide apologists here will call trump antisemite soon. Despite him being very pro Israel.

You mention the Palestinians but Israel is the enemy of the entire of Lebanon and Syria as well. (Not to mention the rest of the region)
Israel is turning into a pariah state. The supposition that the USA will support it forever is a dubious one.
It's in Israel's best intrest to seek peace. And that's the opinion of many Israeli's as well.

I mean I can't say I have the greatest confidence that any deal won't just be a pause or temporary easing off of the genocide before it starts up again but really this does make the endless talk from centralist Dems about the US being basically powerless to do anything to pressure Israel even more hallow than they were already.
Could it just be that Biden and a lot of his staff are just very willing to go along with genocide? that all the talk otherwise was actually just dishonest PR bullshit to hide this from the public with endless "jam tomorrow" claims?

yes, it's in their interest to seek peace. just not with hamas, hezbollah, houthis, iran. good thing they've dramatically diminished those groups capabilities. ultimately the people of gaza will need to help decide who governs and whether they are committed to peace and keeping terrorists in check. syria and lebanon need to learn to play nice as well.
