The main streets downtown are gross with obvious homeless people everywhere and people passed out in random alleys and in front of businesses. But you get a few blocks beyond that and there's the tent cities and just random chaos. And so many businesses here are closed down or boarded up. And that offends my sensibilities tbh. I've been working hard since I was 16 years old. We deserve better than this. It's just so sad. The people that aren't in the cities, or that live in the area but have money have no idea how grim and hopeless it really is out here. I used to read about places like Detroit and shake my head but from what I gather that's pretty much any midsized or larger city these days.

I think it was this case you have referenced where one of the assistant prosecutors was basically more sad for the killer than the victim, because their circumstances and lived experience put them in a position where they felt they had to rob someone. Absolute madness.


It is suspect to me that bragg won his reelection since similar Soros DAs are being recalled and voted out even in libtard strongholds like LA and San Fran. Plus Bragg’s fatass looking and sounding like a complete clown everytime he spoke about the Trump trial.

I think that is the one I am referencing in my post just now. I thought it was someone in her team, but may have been a guy reading her statement

Basically sorry for the killer since his life circumstance put him in the position where he had to rob someone and killed them.

Like what about the circumstance where Penny and others felt their life was in danger and put him in a position where he ended up killing Neely? The hypocrisy is so over the top. It isn’t even hypocrisy, it is over the top delusional psychosis.

The judicial system in these areas is broken and punishes regular folk who just want to work, live a normal life.

If anything, Bragg and this lady should be on trial for negligent homicide because if Neely was properly handled by the NYC judicial system, he would have been in an institution or program that would have kept him out of this situation where he was terrorizing people.

Ok, I just saw a video with my own eyes where the founder of blm greater NY is calling for riots if he is found innocent.
This bitch wouldn’t know his name if it had been a black man that had killed him or if he died in any other circumstances. She says some cars have to burn and glass needs to break and they need to show out with violence. I am really sure that’s what black America needs is more lasting images of more riots over a piece of shit. I have been talking yall that the only reason they care is because Penny is white. That’s the only reason they care about that shitbag neely.

I've only been here since 2018 so I don't know what it was like when this was a more touristy area, but it's crazy how gross it is now. A good chunk of the casinos and hotels are closed down or in various states of disrepair. Old abandoned businesses everywhere with the homeless sleeping in the entrances in front of no loitering signs.

Vomit and shit and garbage everywhere. Sometimes I just expect Robocop to come casually strolling up and say dead or alive you're coming with me.

It's almost unfathomable to me that we've let the average city get this bad and it's like it's barely even a talking point. We're all already used to it.

I may be wrong, but I did not see any twitterverse viral clips of protests, let alone riots because of this, outside of this clip. And you know right wing internet media would be blasting those types of viral clips out

Pretty good sign IMO, as it gives credence that democrats have been losing steam and influence, especially progressive groups like BLM. That branch of the party is thankfully in the fetal position after democracy punched them in the face on 5 November in the year of our lord
