Yeah, but a fair number of people (myself included) don't really like EVH. Also, whoever mentioned Keith Urban and John Mayer, wrong thread. This is guitarists everyone can agree are good. Whether those guys are good or not, a lot of people think they suck.

And yes, Clapton with Cream I think is universally liked, and who doesn't like Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs? P4P top 10 all time rock album. But late 70s and 80s Clapton was terrible.

I'm gonna get flamed, but I never cared for Jimi Hendrix. Something about his playing just rubs me the wrong way. Not that I think he's bad, in fact I do think he's a top notch player, but there's many others I just much prefer to listen to.

In response to the 'worst guitarist' thread, who are some guitarists that essentially everyone thinks are talented and make good music? It's a pretty short list I think. I came up with:

- Jimi Hendrix
- David Gilmour
- Django Reinhardt
- Brian May
- Mark Knopfler
- Duane Allman
- Keith Richards
- Dick Dale

Does anyone really not like any of these guys? Who are other guitarists who basically 99.9% of people like?

all are great, duane allman probably my favorite out of that group - clapton a close second.
