Guitarists Everyone Can Agree On

John Frusciante?

Jeff Healy

Tom Morello

BB King

I recall years back, after a guitar lesson Jeff Healey came on the radio. He was pretty new to the scene. I remember telling my teacher that the guy was blind.

His response was "He plays like it too."

Gary Moore is another hugely underrated guitarist from rock to blues he could do it all!
Love the solo from "Over the Hills"

Mick Taylor > Keith Richards

As a soloist yes. I won't argue with Mick Taylor.

I will take issue with Robert Fripp and Jimmy Page. Not because I have any problem with them (though not a big Fripp fan), but I've met plenty of people who don't like Jimmy Page. Especially post House of the Holy. He just got really self indulgent.

Disagree. Memorable solos yes. Whole songs? Not necessary.

yeah but there are riffs and other things that make a great guitarist. saying soloing is the essence of a great guitarist is a bit newb tbh. soloing is the easiest part. fills and playing along to a song really shows ones mettle in my opinion

SRV
Jimi Hendrix
Tom Morello
Dimebag
Brian May
Jimmy Page

Dave Mustaine is the man.

I don't really like Dave Mustaine. And a lot of guitarists shit on SRV all the time for being a wannabe Hendricks clone (I still love him).
