Guess how much UFC fighters can bench press?

Well that would be pretty sick, I bench 400 in 205 class, and I train powerlifting and I'm on that Jon Jones supplements

I like you being real and honest, but is it allowed in your sports juice your balls? Or you do it off season smthn li dat, or you on that Amstong shit?

Actually this could be right. I think having powerful forearms is more important to push smmomeone off your back though. People neglect forearms alot.

Lmao bench means fuck all.
Military press, deadlifts and squats are the real functional type muscle building lifts. These lifts measure tfue strength. Not bench.
How is a military press more functional than a bench in your mind?
Because you're standing? How often do you press something over your head in mma?
A bench involves more muscles, it's a bigger compound, most people who shit on the bench have a weak bench

Do you mean for multiple reps or a 1 rep max? Ngannou's and Abbott's seems close to being right. But I'd like to think some of these guys can do a little more. I suppose they are not necessarily training for super strength though.

bench press is useless in fighting. look at these guys chests

these guys have to make weight every fight. why are they going to waste energy building a huge and useless chest, and make weight cutting even harder?

correct me if i'm wrong but i dont think anyone ever won a fight via bench press or dumbell fly. put down the schwarzenegger dvd, step away from bodybuilding.com. pecs are a vanity muscle.

bonus pic - the greatest HEAVYWEIGHT boxer ever. where are his pecs? surely he needs pecs for all those punches? guess not

Thats cause he is more experience obviously. Not because he is stronger. Maybe he has more functional strength though. I am not sure. Anyone that says lifting weights doesnt help with strength is a retard. Yea bodybuilding type workouts wont help. But funtional strength exercises would help you get stronger and more powerful without a doubt.
the crazy thing is he havnt been training for 6 years. And I mean any such training at all , not even some push ups

Im gonna post a pic of Nick Newell and say having two arms is useless for fighting..
Point is it's only helps having a strong press can only be a good thing

This thread reminds me of something Mitch Hedberg said:

"This is what my friend said to me; he said "You know what I like? Mashed potatoes." It's like, "Dude. you gotta give me time to guess. If you're gonna quiz me, you must insert a pause in there."

Having a strong press off your back is useful in fighting, far better than having a weak press off your back and being stuck in 3/4 mount
(Yes you obviously don't need a strong bench to have good technical bjj, but it only helps)

heavyweight grappling legend fabricio werdum, submitted fedor the judo master, guillotined cain the relentless wrestler. no known pectorals

josh barnett, massive heavyweight, 21 wins by submission, loose hollow floppy tits, even when on steroids

relentless chain wrestler cain, stopped brock's charge in the middle of the octagon, soft, flabby, no pecs

you need to ask yourself why you are so invested in dudes with big bulging chests bro. dyou wanna go tell werdum how he needs to build some lean mass in his upper body? fancy putting barnett onto a chest building program? maybe get cain on the old 5x5 routine? i'm sure they are just wasting their potential without your advice bro

I'd say they bench somewhere roughly between 275 and 275.

Explain the disadvantage s of a strong bench? I will wait.

Second stop confusing muscle hypertrophy with muscle strength, I tjink you need to ask yourself why you feel you think more than the world's top strength and conditioning coaches?
Btw werdum benches it can be seen on his Instagram as does Velasquez.

Do yourself a favor and look at the us wrestling team find me how many guys have weak flabby chest, it's not necessary for fighting however it only helps, having flabby bitch tits doesn't help sorry

Why you mad breh?
im at work and you make me all laugh, i lost my job...

but most important, im just fucking around mate. The exercises you mention are best, but put weighted Pullups in there and you are Top.

Pushing a heavy piece of metal slowly upwards in a straight line bears no relevance to MMA.

Why would lifting UP with your arms be more indicative of "true, real, functional" strength than pushing straight FORWARD, in a sport like MMA?

All compound exercises are important for athletes. Rows and chins are 2 other ones.
