GRUDGE REMATCH: Gordan Ryan vs Jordan Tabor 2!

That being said, does anyone want a damn match?

Your requests are getting middled which is why it seems tough to get matches.

There is a lot of drama surrounding your challenges. Without even trying to assign any blame for why, there just is.

The guys who thrive on social media drama and are trying to hype themselves up on the internet tend to be up and coming pro types. But with respect, those guys have been beating you easily in matches so far. So at this point I don't see much incentive for them to continue to take you up.

Then you have guys like me. I am a regular black belt I would say. I think we could have a cool match for sure. I've seen your vids, and I respect the skills you bring.

But the guys like me just don't want the drama man. I'm a 30 year old man. I have a real job, a house, a wife, a 3 year old son, and a baby daughter on the way next month. I can't tell my family "Hey, I'm flying to Boston for an internet challenge in Harvard's gym in front of a couple dozen people. But don't worry -- it will probably end up as a poorly written BJJEE article, and then I'll be famous!"

So there probably aren't going to be a ton of takers for your challenges at this point.

I am competing in the summer, but it's IBJJF and I know that's a nonstarter for you. So I don't really know what else I can do.

What I can say is that if you stop by the Pittsburgh area, you're welcome at the gym. You can do no gi with heel hooks and that's all fine. If it's gi, you can wear your black belt, line up with us, and we'll treat you like any other black belt. You can probably guest teach that day too if you'd like since we usually do that.

Plus you could roll with me too, which I think would be pretty cool since you seem to have a unique style. I like different looks. But at this point in my life I'm just not interested in crazy challenge matches anymore. Maybe ten years ago when I was a blue belt.

Anyway, just putting the invitation out there in case you're ever in town. You are welcome at the gym bro. There won't be any bullshit. Just training and getting better.

Take care.

Part of the issue is that I'm between skill levels. I am a legit champion. At a local and regional level, the opponents tend to drop. Once I advance towards a more pro/national level, they win more. Which makes sense. Not that they all win, as I've managed victories at that level, but it makes matchmaking difficult. The invite isn't a challenge though, it's an invite to a prescheduled event that needs one more guy.

I'll echo that. I'd be happy to train or even compete against Jordan if he ever was in CO or attended any of the (regional, mostly) tournaments I compete in, but I'm training for a pro match now here in Denver and it's just grueling trying to balance more BJJ, Judo, weights, running, etc. along with having a 19 month old and a pretty demanding job. It's probably the last time I'll do it, because, well, I'm almost 34 and life happens (though I'll most likely still be a brown belt for old guy worlds 2017, that might be my real last big competitive push) and I can only ask so much of my wife. Internet challenges are fun and all, but it's pretty clear where the best guys in the world are at (ADCC and IBJJF, as we've driven into the ground in this thread) and they're not hiding from anyone; go get 'em tiger. That's where you back up the talk, not challenging hobbyists, even serious and moderately accompished ones, on Sherdog.

I'm not challenging hobbyists I'm just filling a match cause there's a match to fill.

No one's challenging anyone. I figure, given the strong opinions here, that there might be real grapplers about. I'm INVITING one of you to participate in a match that is going to happen. Quit twisting mundane shit to make it appear like I'm doing something wrong. Yes, I'm a grappler. Yes I'll accept and solicit matches, some of which I'll win, some of which I'll lose. Thats how this thing works.

In fact, just look at this bullshit article. What was I doing when this shit jumped off? Minding my business. Then I get a message from UGC. They want me on the card. The Ryan shows up and offers a rematch. Somehow this gets turned into me challenging him to a rematch because of my massive ego? Everything is not me beefing with somebody. Sometimes it's just another day of grappling.

What was the last gq you did and what adcc champs or medalists or even competitors were there?

Stop spewing factually inaccurate nonsense. Gq is at least one tier below adcc, but really more like 2. Occasionally they have big names but winning the open competition is not the same as winning an invite only tournament or super fight. That's where the good guys fight, not in the open admission expert division.

The Miyao brothers were at the last one I did. Invite/application only. Lot of other serious guys. The one I did before featured guys like Bill Cooper and Ricco Rodriguez, the ADCC champ, and was closed door and open weight. Grapplers Quest has a pro division that's as a serious as anything else you could enter. You want to pretend I'm ducking to justify talking all the shit you talk. No one is ducking.

In fact, weren't you just a few pages ago calling me out for "calling people out"? Am I ducking or am I calling people out? Pick one.

From what ive seen this Gordon Ryan kid is a fucken beast, So is Garry Tonon, no shame in losing to either of them.
Yes the comments he made about Kit were pretty fucken douchey but give the guy a break, the whole forum is lighting him up

Gordon Ryan is a motherfucker. I see him train a lot and he's gonna be a force. Only 20 too and just got his Blackbelt from Danaher after 5 years of training.

ive sussed out a few matches on youtube, his nogi game is pretty dope..
what his gi game like? does he compete in ibjjf much?

Didn't you lose like the third or fourth match at blue in worlds?

It's very good. Like most Renzo guys, he's more Nogi oriented, but he still trains in the GI often. More so than Tonon.

He did Worlds as a purple but didn't place. He did Nogi Worlds as a brown and subbed everyone.

Jordan...stop ducking the one and only....Dan TheWolfman. If you can beat him, you will earn everyone's respect.

Yep. Fourth. In 2009. Why? I lose all the time.

Hell I wrestled for three seasons and averaged a win a year.
