Social Greta Thunberg Megathread

Was wondering who that was because she’s been in a bunch of thumbnails all week. Legitimately thought she was a poster girl for special needs and thought “you know what? Good for her!”

Ask yourself that. How do you know what her IQ is? You are guessing. She claims she has Aspergers, you don't think that qualifies as a retard, so be it. I say it does.
Because it's obvious. Your claim that her IQ is low enough to qualify as mentally retarded is the one that needs evidence to support it.

Last time I respond to you, but it's irrelevant what her IQ is. She has Aspergers, she says this. That qualifies her as a retard under any reasonable person's definition, in addition to every dictionary.

Says the retard who can't back that claim up.

Don’t Overreact! John C. McGinley has said, there is no difference between derogatory words used to label ethnic or religious minorities and the words used to label people with Down syndrome. As with people advocating for ethnic or religious minorities, there is a movement (led by Special Olympics)clicking here.

Renowned educator and inclusion specialist Patti McVay emphasizes “the best name to call someone is the name he or she was born with.” Many organizations, including the federal government and the National Institutes of Health, have gone back to scrub their old records of the word “mentally retarded” and have replaced it with “intellectually and developmentally disabled,” with the acronym of IDD. Other organizations are using cognitive disability, intellectual disability, or developmental disability. Still others use the word “challenged” instead of disability. There are subtle differences in the definitions based on each organization and even by state, but most importantly any of these terms are accepted as appropriate by the community being defined. For the Global Down Syndrome Foundation, we like to take it a step further and talk about our community as “differently-abled.”

The amount of white knighting you are doing for a retarded 16 year old is bordering on creepy. I bet you'd smell the bicycle seat on her 3 wheel bike.

I guess you missed my posts were I said fuck her feelings, her speech made me cringe, and her argument was weak. Go find me all those dictionary definitions that classify her as mentally retarded, remember EVERY dictionary says so. Every reasonable person says so too, so you'd think there would be a lot of intelligent posters to back that up.

Why are people listening to a 11 yr old retard ?

haha, way to take it one step further.

i dont care if she is technically a retard or not, that speech having inspired so many Lefties demonstrates just how many retards are actually out there.

I watched it and expected the entire world to blush and collectively say, “ok, ok, i still believe in climate change, but her fifteen minutes are up, as that was truly embarrassing.”

But no, the meatball is being gobbled up by the liberal masses.

Such a retarded post

President Trump must feel short changed his buddy Putin just signed the climate accord.

"Speaking of which: After three and half years of foot-dragging, Russia President Vladimir Putin decided to ratify the Paris pact. The reasons have less to do with the fate of the planet than with geopolitics and gross domestic product, but it was welcome news at the summit on Monday."

1. The US gets an amazing amount of attention paid to its emissions. China not so much. If they got half as much condemnation as western nations do, I might start thinking you guys are serious about your climate fears.
2. Not only did I never say that this is about the US having no obligations, I pointed out specifically that this was not my point.
3. My point is if the mitigating climate change was the real goal of this movement, that China would be far more regularly and roundly condemned. But the goal of the climatetistas is political control in the west. China is irrelevant to their goals and it shows.
lol still at it with the "b..bbb..but China!" schtick? You think activists are ignoring China?

Why China is at the center of our climate strategy
A giant leap forward: EDF advises China on the launch of its national carbon market.

As the United States steps away from global climate leadership, China is stepping up. EDF has been working there for more than 25 years, and now we're helping the Chinese government launch a national system to control climate pollution.

It's really strange how you always revert back to this whenever climate is discussed. YES, CHINA IS A MASSIVE POLLUTER, AND YES, THE GLOBAL "CLIMATISTAS" ARE AWARE OF THIS AND DOING WHAT THEY CAN TO PRESSURE THEM. It's just impossible for foreigners to protest there seeing as how the nation is controlled by totalitarian regime. Again, you seem so butthurt that people are daring to accuse America of its role in all this.

BTW, China is enacting changes to its environmental policies faster than we did. Because they're aware that their own citizens are suffering from it.

What are yours?

Why are people listening to a 11 yr old retard ?
Because this "11 year old retard" is brighter and better informed on this topic than half of this forum.

But let's put all this aside and pretend she really is a pawn fabricated by The International Jew. Does that change the fact that all her points are true? All the data she repeats is accurate and taken straight out of the IPCC report. The warnings are real. Perhaps it's not as pressing to the 40 year olds in the War Room, because we'll be dead before the worst of it. Our children and grandchildren will inherit this so it is our responsibility.

Kids will listen to anything. Kids are easily influenced and tribal and will follow eachother. These kids didnt go clean coastlines, or plant trees , or clean up mounds of literal trash . These are things that dont need policy change to be done. These are things with massive financial backing and media coverage (which is present) that could make a significant diference in helping the planet. This should tell you the purpose of the movement. Imagine if the climate strike started with this, a big fuck you to politicians, a hey if we can do this together why cant you. But NOPE.

Had a handful of students walk out after lunch on Friday. Not sure if they went to the local protest or not. I had to mark them as absent because this was not a school district sponsored event (or field trip).

So, has anyone asked the organizers of the protest why they couldn't gather on a Saturday?

If so, what was their answer?

Part of me wants to applaud these children for being so involved in their future, and politics in general.

then another part of me gets annoyed...for example, what are their credentials? why are they an authority on this matter? (having heard Greta, she definietely knows a lot about the subject).

but a lot of these children are being used. and it's an unfair practice really. If someone is going to disagree with these children, how are they going to look? like ogres
This is kinda my gripe too
These kids have barely lived. They dont even understand what their own negetive contribution to the environment is . One of the biggest contracts my work has is the waste water treatmemt plant. The amount of gas fired equipment and strain on the environment it takes just to make sure ONE city has clean sewage and water is no joke. Do 11 year olds even have a clue about this. Unlikely.... cause they're kids. Tv school and playing outside are their lives.

Yeah I didn't realize she was as old as she was when I first posted about her in here. She's not exactly a child and I'm sure she has more of an argument than what's been represented in the thread.

Clearly she is educated on the matter. And if she truly is a grass roots phenomenon, then I applaud her.

Personally I would rather have more children involved in shit like this, rather than keeping up with the Kardashians, and being obsessed with their image..

This just about says it all. He could not avoid the climate summit he heard there was tons of hot 6 foot tall Swedish girls covering Greta's speech LOL. Why else would he be there he does not care about Climate change.

"
"Trump has meanwhile repeatedly voiced skepticism about climate change. He made an unexpected appearance at the U.N. climate summit, but only stayed for between 10 and 15 minutes.
"

Trump needs attention. He literally ran for president to stoke his ego. This isnt new news.
