And no it wasn't tropical, apparently you didn't read the article or you have poor reading comprehension. It was a temperate climate, similar to southern New Zealand. The average high temperature was 53 degrees Fahrenheit (11.7C). A tropical climate has a mean temperature above 64F (18C) every single month. It wasn't even close to being a tropical climate. It was more like Scotland with a summer high around 66F (18.9C).

I have a good mate who's adamant that climate change is bullshit. He's a big fan of space/the universe, and he reckons that it's just a naturally occurring situation due to some kind of relationship between earth and the sun at this time (I don't pay too much attention to the detail, the man is prone is repeat himself a lot).

I'm always like "Yeah, but the climate IS changing man...."

"YES, but it's not because of fucking carbon emissions or fossil fuels etc....."

"But it is changing. So climate change is a 'thing'"

"Yeah but there's nothing we can do about it...."

The small city I live in just shut down two coal plants and put up a natural gas plant it cost 400 people their jobs and raised everybody's electric bill 35%.

Natural gas is better of coarse, but these two power plants were right on Lake Superior and were heavily regulated. They even won awards for being some of the cleanest in the nation. I'm totally on board with trying to be more ecologically responsible, but a lot of it just turns out to be a for profit dog and pony show.

Here's a weird sidenote though - I work closely with the Sustainability guy on my project team. Yesterday, we had a kind of Sustainability symposium type event with speakers etc. I shit you not, the very first speaker started claiming that climate change is racist. I literally couldn't believe what I was hearing.

A talk about the environment and carbon emissions, within minutes, became a talk about racial and gender equality. It was mind-blowing. That's the problem, see - any topic nowadays gets hijacked by these social justice idiots who want to turn every single topic into a discussion about race and gender.

1. Democrats politicians know their wine-mom voters believe that children have some special quality of wisdom born of a presumed innocence.
2. Republican politicians know that she's actually a spastic knucklehead who argues her case badly, so why not allow her to represent the cause they disagree with? Makes their job easier.

There is a sensitive matter in the Western societies, which is seen now as normality or universal writing. They will brainwash children, but do you want also these old people to agree with everything?

Additionally, in science many people have thought things they don"t anymore.

We are probably random people. As normal people, we can probably have an opinion but we can"t impose others. We are not politicians and you should get used with it.

Moreover I think the best opinion comes from experience, less from reading.
