Media Good Ariel Helwani analysis on Jon Jones' tweets

Can't stand Helwani, but he's right here.

I could be wrong here but I think there's a VERY good chance of Jon actually fighting Tom, why? Because Jon has barely said shit up until recently with Tom being the guy who was making all of the noise. Now all of a sudden Jon starts running his twitter fingers with IFW being only a month away and the MSG card being 6 months away. All seems too convenient. I wouldn't be surprised if they announced Jones vs Aspinall at IFW for the MSG Card later this year and all the shit Jon is talking at the moment is to just stir up shit and get people talking.

Its been some sort of "MMA legend" that the UFC must offer 3 fights per year to the fighters...he just needs to take one of them each 3-4 months, racking up title defenses and paychecks, i dont see how this causes an issue with the UFC, im not asking for him to demand Jones to be stripped, he should just fight.

This, but for some reasons sherbros thing different.

And his contract is likely for absolute peanuts compared to what he'd potentially get in a title fight vs Jones. The UFC has to offer 3 fights per year (most likely if that's what his contract states) but can back load them if they choose. Nothing for 6 months then a fight everyone 2 months the 2nd half of a year. They literally may not have offered him one fight in 2025 yet. In fact it's likely they haven't. They are holding out for Jone/Aspinall.

Whats exactly the issue here? Pretty sure he is getting "championship pay" this days, of course if Jones fight happens he would try to get more money out of it, but just like in Boxing, the A side takes the cake, the B side (Aspinall) does not, he would get more money from the PPV cut as this fight would sell way more than any other fight, but considering his fights are usually done in less than two minutes, with no damage on his end, minus the time he got injured of course, he could fight the next guy no problem and just wait for the Jones fight, that wont happen, but not wasting his prime years like Chandler did waiting for a fight that wont happen.

But again, it doesn't sound like the UFC has even offered him anything. If they had and Aspinall turned it down, you'd have heard from whoever they tried to offer him about how Aspinall "ducked" them or whatever.

The reality is that the UFC are stretching this out as long as possible to give Jones a chance to accept because that's the fight THEY want.

yea, I don't think there is any truth to that legend at least based on the Eddie Alvarez contract. Unless I missed it, the terms only state the UFC must offer the number of contracted fights during the contract period.

All these people crying for Tom is pathetic. Imagine being a grown ass man, much less a professional fighter that everyone looks at as a helpless victim, incapable of doing anything for himself because Jon Jones completely controls his life.

I think Jon is trying to teach Tom to grow a pair, become a man, and take control of his own life.

Arguably the most retarded thing I've seen in quite some time.

"Jon is teaching Tom a lesson by avoiding this ass whooping!"

Cannot make this shit up.

Aspinall gonna be fine, with or without a fight vs Jones. And Jonny gonna have to decide soon enough. Everyone knows it.

And mocking someone for ducking you like a bitch doesn't mean they "control your life". It means you're mocking them for being scared of you. Nothing more.

Aspinall just wants the fucking title shot he's earned. Its Jones that needs to grow a pair right now.

Fuck Jon Jones.

Quack!

I don’t know about that, he’s a shit starting clown that at this point only has one purpose in life when it comes to MMA and that’s trying to take down the UFC using the fighters as a vessel.
I don't follow him or know much about him, but I recall he was pretty annoying back in the day and always trying to get people to say stuff that would be inflammatory. From not knowing much about it, since he and the UFC started their feud, he has changed a bit and maybe become less annoying . He seems knowledgeable about the sport as you would expect after so many years.

Ever since the incident with Ariel and Tito Ortiz when he was fighting bader, I’m done with him.

He clearly put words in Tito’s mouth, and Tito is not smart to begin with. He doesn’t need anyone’s help looking stupid or saying stupid things

as far as i'm aware interim belts still get you ppv points. so he got paid for pavlovich and blaydes, although the ufc didn't really promote it as a big championship event

what sucks though is that he should have 1 defense on his record. but instead he's at 0.

I guess if you are new fan you don't realize how much Ariel has done for MMA.

You sound like you've been a victim of massive bullying.

Sorry you went through all that, but there are plenty of other reasons to not care for Ariel, apart from 'he's a nerd and not alpha enough.'
Real men don't need shields
