For god sake it’s been two years now. Those masks aren’t stopping Covid, especially not how most people wear them. They do help with flu and rsv but you e never work one until now outside the hospital for that before.

Surgical masks don't do much for COVID but N95 masks 100% do.

It's funny that they're thinking of another mask mandate. It's the masks that got us into this mess.

We're like the native Americans that had no immunities to the germs that the European settlers brought over.

The answer is to stop wearing masks and let our immune system catch up to everything it's missed out on for the last 3 years.

I had a case of flu (I think, as I didn't go to the doctor) in the winter of 2019 and it was brutal as well...I couldn't get out of bed for almost a week, even going to the bathroom was difficult and hard AF. I haven't been so sick in my life, absolutely terrible.

I got covid in the last week of march and it was a piece of cake. The worst thing was that my back started to hurt real bad after a week of laying in my bed or couch. Other than, I got nothing, not even a fever.

There was a really nasty flu strain going around in late 2019 that nailed a lot of folks including myself. It was brutal, no fever, but got laid out with the worst coughing & chest congestion I've ever had in my life to the point where I was getting only 2-3 hours of sleep a night and I was starting to get a bit loopy from the lack of sleep. Spent the next month coughing up crud from my lungs, and it was over 2 months before I was back to 100%.

The I got covid along with the rest of my family in fall 2020, none of us had anything worse than the sniffles & a scratchy throat.

Probably not a good comparison, my man. The polio ‘outbreak’ was likely due to virus shedding from a specific type of polio vaccination. Also the originals polio vaccinations, which were deemed completely safe, caused lots of injuries and deaths.

Let’s lead with compassion here. I believe everyone should have the full autonomy to make heath decisions for themselves and their children in so much that their child is not in immediate danger. I believe we can all get behind that.

I just don't understand how we can get life-saving medicine and have people just believe anyone who offers an opposing viewpoint and watch their children suffer because of it. Those with opposing views will offer you NO HELP when it comes to your healthcare and when you do ask for it, their answer will be "bootstraps."

Polio is still a thing because we switched from the oral polio vaccine which provides sterilizing immunity to the injected version which does not. We did this because the oral version has a significantly higher risk of adverse effects, and since polio had been mostly eradicated in North America at the time the trade-off between vaccine injuries & deaths vs. additional polio infections was a logical & rational choice.

Learn your damn history before you say shit like this.

Nobody is wearing those in public. I’m in pretty good shape and running from room to room or up and down a flight of steps between patients with an N 95 on and of course another mask is difficult for me. Now imagine your average fat ass, trying to do that.
