Well I have this feeling that they won't do the surgery unless it gets worse. Just a hunch.

I'm going to wait until my appt with the surgeon before I join a gym, but I am going to do some deads once I get back home just to test the area that's torn.

Considering I typically go for the younger ones that rules you out and leaves Graedy. jk

I guess fatty would be the better choice as he has much more experience and Im still a weakling (maybe except my pullups :icon_chee ). But I guess it wouldnt be a problem for both of us to help you out. So far I have 3 trainees, good progress and zero injuries in my "team". Creating workouts is a bit of a passion for me. In person I have a talent to transfer my knowledge aka teach.
So, yes.... I feel qualified to do this although my numbers are still shit.

Edit: I dont have put up vids so far. But as the new mobile of my friend can even make vids in decent quality I will maybe post some soon.

I have an HD video camera. Is this a selling point? All I need to do now is learn how to transfer vids to my computer.

Typically, at least in America, "teams" are referred to as "crews" in weightlifting/strongman circles,, i.e. Diesel Crew (http://www.dieselcrew.com)/, Sequim Crew (http://www.myspace.com/sequimcrew), etc.

I think you need to name your "crew"... something like Never Surrender Crew, perhaps. Now that I say it, though, Team Never Surrender does sound better. OK -- stick with "team".

Aren't duos inherently gay, though? I've always subscribed to the school of thought that a well-named duo is just a front for a closet relationship.

The idea about giving the crew a name is fucking great. Two of the guys always put up new bands with new names (Its always the same guys out of 5 people with differenet constellations and stuff). They just love to print new bandshirts.
So apart from the "squat till you drop" shirt I plan on getting we would soon have crewshirts after we have given ourselves a name. Now. How cool is that?!

Duo's are ambiguously ghey. Trio's can work, but each member must posess strong personalities or one of the three members will always feel left out. 4 is clearly the perfect number here. Any less than four and you are dangerously close to making out with each other. Any more than 4 and you might as well start a boy band. Consessions can be made for groups numbering more than 6, but said groups are walking the fine line between crews and gangs. More than 10, and you're a team.

Every group, regardless of size, must posess a logo, a name, a t-shirt, a hangout and atleast one groupie and/or lacky. The groupie/lacky must never be allowed to join the gourp, but his or her pressense will give the impression that membership in your group is something to aspire to and that you are indeed "teh shit". Afterall, what's the point of having a group, it you can't deny membership?

This is exactly why our group of 4 works so well. *Jaw hanging in utter awe* No wonder 5 or more never worked...
 
bacon, I think you summed up group culture quite nicely.

Incidentally, I talked to Tayon today who had read my thread earlier, and he informed me that our 2-man crew... errrr, duo does, in fact, have a name. Apparently, other gym members have been referring to us as the "Get Swole Crew". How horrific is that? I must have blocked this moniker from my sensitive ears, and for good reason.

I'd much prefer something like "St. Wilhelm's Nondenominational Church of S&P". Let the swole seekers figure out what S&P stands for... ha -- it'd never happen.

Today, Tannah had her two month appointment. She needed four vaccinations and it was really quite heartbreaking to see her go from happy, smiling baby to red faced and screaming when they gave her the injections. Having a baby changes your perspective on everything. If ever Tannah was in danger or worse, hurt by someone, I would have no qualms about brutally beating someone to death if it was in the interest of her safety or as revenge for my daughter. Sounds dramatic, but it's absolutely true.

Anyhow, she was 11 lbs. 8 oz., 23"; 75th percentile for weight, length and head, up from 5oth percentile across the board at her last appointment (2 weeks). Growing like a weed!

Since I spent the morning with Tannah and Courtney, I got to work late. I decided to skip my lunch hour workout, opting, instead, to pretend to work through lunch while rigorously working my COC grippers. Last week's ridicule and subsequent humiliation over my to-date failure to close the #2 has inspired me to git 'er done. I came super close today -- I predict I'll have it in 1-2 weeks.

I did workout, though it wasn't until I left for the day. Log entry to follow.

You gotta get some of these lifts on video so JK and I can check'em out.

You said you had HD. So is that on a Mini DV then? To download you'd probably need usb or even better firewire. I'm trying to convert all my 8mm stuff right now, but having limited success since I don't have a video camera with bypass.

I think once I get to lifting I'll just do the Wilhelm WOD and cut all the weight in half. Nice job on your lifts.

I'll record something sometime soon. I've kind of been waiting for something that I feel is tape-worthy.

Yes, the camera is Mini DV. It's a Sony HDR-HC1, which is supposed to be a really nice camera, but I don't know much about them. I plan to get the instruction manual out soon so I know what the hell I'm doing. I'm sure you're right -- I probably just need USB to get it uploaded.

I hate to say it, most likely she's going to come down with a fever Usually last a day or two at most.

I think with both of mine when they got the 3-4 injections they came down with fevers.

They both had some success not getting sick when they only received one injection.

Yeah, they told us she might. So far, so good, but we'll see. They prescribed baby Tylenol, and I think it helps a bit. Last night, she was smiley and talkative, so that was nice to see.

It crossed my mind. He's about 185, so I suppose it would have been an easy feat. Three reps followed by a throw into the mirror, followed by a crumpled body lying next to the squat rack... sort of like planting my flag.
