"Give an A+ athlete 6 months"

come on!

jon jones (c level at best) became ufc champ after 3 years.

could you imagine what would someone like lebron do?

he bigger, stronger, faster, quicker... than jones.

its not crazy to suggest it takes him even less time to become ufc champ
Many y'all seem to forget many of these fighters started their disciplines early. Jones has been wrestler for years and that shit can't be taught so quick.

Making it in Boxing, the NBA, the NFL etc is a hell of a lot harder than is to become a champion in the UFC. For example, brock became the HW champ with only 3 wins lol. Why would the best athletes in the world join the UFC when they could be making loads more elsewhere. That 15k to show and 15k to win with 6k reebok sponsorship money isnt to enticing lol. Also, Give Deontay Wilder a year to learn some takedown/submission defense and he'd dust stipe.

Harder, but trouble is you've trained your whole life for something different.

Some of you fools need to get into a gym and train BJJ and kickboxing. Get a feel for the shit you shovel.

There's a lot of really athletic guys that can't handle 6 months as a white belt.

When somebody makes this statement it needs to be qualified with "if they have the mindset for it". Not directed at you TS, just in general.

Most A level athletes would get their ass kicked in a cage or ring. But get an A level athlete with a fighter's mindset and it would be interesting to see.

A level toughness!

Imagine him getting hit by Mark Hunt.

The fact I find most funny is that these "A level athlete" worshippers always seem to assume these men would somehow naturally have the mindset of a fighter, meaning they would not react like Brock or worse when getting hit to the face etc.

what you dont seem to realize is to make it to the highest level of any sport you have to be gifted athletically, but also very competitive individual.

thats a difference between nba/nfl journeyman n an allstar.

all the top nba/nfl players are also the most competitive ppl in the world. their desire to win > other individuals. your division 1 wrestler or bjj black belt simply doesnt have mental fortitude to keep up with these guys. he will simply break when overwhelmed with their athleticism + mental toughness.

on top of that most of these guys grew up in the hood, so you can be sure they have a mindset of a fighter. they literally grew up fighting.

gsp disagrees...

LeBron
Bryce Harper
JJ Watt

All champs after 2 bjj classes and 2 hours of watching Fedor highlights.

Yes, I'm dead ass serious

People who think that it only takes a couple of months to be proficient in MMA never trained a day in their life
I did bjj and boxing, still think A lvl athletes wipe the mat in no time, 3 weeks of training MAX

Bob Sapp, a B lvl NFL canbeat, one of the most decorated K1 fighters of all time twice (Hoost). Then there's Lesnar who is a A- athlete, beat Randy Couture and Frank Mir after 6 months of no head sparring lmfao

Just like Michael Jordan was great at baseball..... Some of the responses here are sad.

cant hit what you cant see/reach.

mark hunt wont be able to cose the distance vs lebron.

also using those gifs as some sort of "proof" is ridiculous.

hes clearly trying to sell a foul
