i presume intel's also going to get some sort of gov't bone thrown their way, too, not that they deserve it.

It's better to have dust filters and slightly sacrifice airflow then to not have any imo.

Having dust filters will still give you much better airflow than having a fully covered pannel.

Stacking a dust filter behind a mesh panel is a lot more than "slightly sacrificing airflow" bud.
 
Ordered the Corsair 4000d Airflow.

It cost $130 here on Amazon Canada. $150 with taxes.

You guys in the US are lucky with your $80 cases. I guess it won't be a budget case after all lol

As I said, it's still better than having a fully covered front panel.

I'll take the sacrificed airflow over having to clean the inside of the case more often.

When did I say there was a lot of dust? Actually, I don't get much dust at all but I still prefer having a dust filter anyway.

Also, what's it to you anyway? They make computer cases with dust filters for a reason, dumbass.

Because it reduces the frequency of cleaning even if it means once a year or even once every two years. And it makes it easier to clean as well.

You posted about the lack of air flow in the 400d, I'm pointing out that pulling the dust filter will improve flow tremendously. Once again, a dust filter isn't needed unless you're a nasty mother fucker.
Is this not a forum for discussion? Am I supposed to ask you if I can post or not? Get off your high horse.

The majority of computers today have dust filters. So is everyone buying a nasty motherfucker?

Clearly you don't care about dust filters, that's cool. Some people prefer to have them.

Also never heard of 400d.

The majority? I've never seen a Dell, HP, or any other prebuilt have a dust filter.

So you're going to play that game eh.

What game?

Most computers do have dust filters. Whether it's at the bottom where the PSU is, on top of the tower or in front. Never been a fan of prebuilts so I couldn't care less.

Not sure why you can't let it go. I respect your opinion, just move along ffs.

You said the majority of computers. Prebuilts vastly outnumber the pc's we build. So no, the vast majority of computers do not have dust filters.

PC enthusiasts prefer building their computers themselves rather than buying prebuilts with cheap components. And most cases sold on the market for computer builders do come with dust filters.

Even if the number of computers without dust filters did outweigh the ones without them, what does it matter? The point is that they were added because they serve a purpose.

Look, we get it, your computer case doesn't have dust filters and you don't care about them, that's fine. Just because you think they are useless it doesn't mean they are.
 
just sayin - but the amount of annoyance/frequency of dust/etc may be largely geographic in both macro and micro. dustier climates/proximity to highways.

the air in philly is pretty gross (at least it's not socal bad) and i live on a major roadway. so balancing airflow with blowing dust (more like blackish soot) out of heatsinks/etc is actually worth considering. i honestly probably should have went with water cooled, but i just never liked that due to the catastrophic worst-case scenarios (vs air cooled, which worst-case is basically meh).

next time, i'll likely be using a case with bigass, easily removable filters that i can just pull off and give a quick rinse/wipe once/week or so.
 
Adata XPG SX8200 Pro 512gb NVME is on sale for $65 and the 1tb version for $93. They perform equal to a Samsung 970 Evo at cheaper prices.

Thoughts on Alienware Aurora 11 with 3080? a couple hundred more than building a system, but at least it seems they have 3080s in stock.
