Television Game of Thrones S08E06 Discussion Thread: Burn them all! (the writing staff) | Our Watch has ended

Anyone else find it odd that Jon seemed really upset about being sent back to the Night’s Watch and the Wall? Mother fucker VOLUNTEERED for that shit before. Now he’s all against going back when he has no reason whatsoever to not go back? Dany’s dead. His father, Robb and Rickon are dead. Arya’s fucking off to America. Bran’s gone weird and Sansa’s as bitchy as ever. He might as well go back to the Wall.

I think we were meant to take it as a happy-ish ending for Jon. It was pretty clear he belonged up North, the REAL North.

They probably begged the actor to play it bittersweet. But Kit whatever his name is can only pull off one emotion, pouting.

Why didn’t anyone say “No, Jon is the rightful heir and King”.

Kings kill other kings/queens all the time. Why is Danaerys justified in killing Cersei but Jon snow is in prison for killing Dany. The fk is the point of him being Targaryen.

Even if he didn’t want it he could choose to pass on the throne to Bran. Just felt wrong for Jon to have sacrificed so much for everyone to agree to send him north with little to no fight. Tyrion, Sansa, Davos, all were like “ok it’s cool”.

Who the fuck cares what Grey Worm says.

Well, Jon technically swore loyalty to Dany, but yeah, no one really cared about him at the end.

When Bran had that smugg look on his face saying how it was all a plan... My first thought was that we never saw Dany's face after she heard the bells and lost it. I started to think the reason they didn't show her face while she was burning civilians alive was because it was actually Bran warging into her... I thought this was Bran's plan to get to the throne, why? Because he's the new Night King as he could still have his mark.

That’s my point, they should have done it with him saying something like “it’s where Bastards like me belong” instead of literally saying that it wasn’t fair.

Lets all stop fucking crying for a second to give all glory honor props to Kit Harrington, who had to kill himself literally for 8 yrs to earn the love and respect of the world,INCLUDING growing this stache so he wont be recognized by the unwashed

And in turn why the fuck does Grey Worm care what they think? The Unsullied aren’t Westerosi. They shouldn’t care about laws or protocols or politics. Why consult with the other lords of the seven kingdoms at all?

Also, why did Arya task Jon with killing Daenerys when she could have done it easily herself?

Targaryans have only been there for less than 300 years and have f*cked things up pretty badly. Jon was in the hands of the enemy and insisting on his kingship would only lead to ANOTHER siege of King's Landing. Nobody really wanted that. For the record, I don't think Bran is a particularly strong choice for kingship, nor do I think an elective monarchy will work out that great (just imagine the next generation of Lannisters scheming...), but I understand why they would pick him as a compromise candidate (which, as Tyrion said, leaves no-one happy).

WTF do they need a Night’s Watch for now?

Ice Spiders, obviously.

Better yet, when did they manage to rebuild the wall? NK destroyed it with the ice-zombie dragon

Errr, the portion that was destroyed is at Eastwatch by the Sea, which was manned by the Wildlings, sent by Jon when he was Lord Commander of the Night's Watch back at Castle Black.

The Breaching of the Wall is the event that marks the closing of the Conflict Beyond the Wall and the beginning of the dreaded Great War. After amassing a massive army of the dead beyond the Wall for over two decades, the Night King leads the White Walkers and his army of wights to the Wall. There, the Night King, mounting the wight dragon Viserion, attacks a portion of the Wall at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea, melting it down and creating a breach allowing the White Walkers and the wights to cross into the Seven Kingdoms and spread their magic, marking the return of the Long Night in the world.

Daenerys could’ve just sent Arya to go kill Cersei and not even bothered sending an army. Arya was going to do that anyway.

If I’m one of these actors after reading the script, I’m talking shit to D&D after every take. Can’t believe how they ruined a great show.
Writers like D&D don't listen to actors, they're just props, they are there to play out their awesome story that no one else can add anything to.

Really hyped for their Star Wars take.
