Television Game of Thrones S08E06 Discussion Thread: Burn them all! (the writing staff) | Our Watch has ended

Imagine the real-world implications of killing a Queen who has almost a godlike status among her followers.

Let me tell you what doesn't happen: they don't peacefully sail back to their home country, especially after abandoning their millennia long traditions voluntarily in order to assist her in building a brave new world.

Daenerys could’ve just sent Arya to go kill Cersei and not even bothered sending an army. Arya was going to do that anyway.
Sounds like something you'd need a complex series of interconnected tunnels under a castle to accomplish.

In first 4-6 seasons, maybe.

In last 2 seasons, all you need is Arya.

That means there's still a giant fucking whole in that "wall" right?

Of course it is, that's why absolutely no one here have any idea about this mysterious repair job that you speak of.

Well I enjoyed it and liked that it really felt like an ending.

Bran being king was unforeseen and actually makes sense of a lot of his actions/inaction.

Eh, a show I used to go to, Comicpalooza in Houston, had the Mother of Dragons as the only big guest. I was thinking of getting tickets a week or two prior, but the guest list was shit and I didn't give a fook about Emilia Clarke. First time since 2015 that I didn't go.

<[analyzed}>

Bran tells Sansa he'd be a bad leader when they tell him that he's the rightful ruler of Winterfell.

Am I the only one who wanted to see the butcher's boy end up on the Iron Throne?

uhhhm

how the hell was that supposed to happen!?

Or more pertinently, why? o_O

I swear, every time I try to participate in this discussion, it sounds like half of the people here either suffers from amnesia or watched an entirely different show than we did.

Unless I missed something, they never adress or show the destruction of the wall. As a matter of fact, they use doors as means of entering and leaving. Which to me, would imply, that that's the only way in and out.

I didn't expect much at all but this was so much worse than I could've imagined. Goddamn did they fuck this up. It was so bad it seemed like a parody during a lot of scenes. Sad.

So this is what my friends are bitching about for a couple of weeks now. A bad GoT season

When Bran had that smugg look on his face saying how it was all a plan... My first thought was that we never saw Dany's face after she heard the bells and lost it. I started to think the reason they didn't show her face while she was burning civilians alive was because it was actually Bran warging into her... I thought this was Bran's plan to get to the throne, why? Because he's the new Night King as he could still have his mark.

It was written in such a way to make that a real possibility. I don't know if that was inadvertent. If you take a step back it seems the most logical conclusion. You have a freak clairvoyant telepath pulling the strings and smugly tells everyone as much after he ascends to King.

The gap in the wall over at Eastwatch is still in the intro.

And here's the rough distance between the three main castles along the wall:

There is no damage to the wall at Castle Black. The dead didn't even go anywhere near there when they were marching south. Thus the people now living at Castle Black still traverse through their tunnel/gate for expeditions to the north.

Honestly, I don't see how any of this is difficult for anyone to understand.

Cramming and forcing this Jon/Dany love arc with in 15 episodes was an awful decision. It would have meant so much more to have Jorah kill Dany.

Wow was not aware of all that. Would have loved two more seasons.

B&W were such a big part of the show's success... I dunno I could see how they might think it would be better to wrap it up quick and tight rather than have to drag it out. Would trust their judgement normally but if they really ditched it for shitty Star Wars movies tho...
<{dayum}>

We have no way of knowing if they did. It's all disgruntled people making conjecture. I'm happy that we got an actual ending after 8 grand seasons. This season has had stupid things, sure, but also tons of spectacular moments. It's been a wild ride, and I 100% support that they didn't go with the easy solution of leaving Jon on the throne.

Season 7 wasn't good, but season 8 largely delivered.

So so we know if Jon actually joined the wildings or he was just on night's watch duty to relocate them?
