Gaethjes eyepokes were disgusting

I guess not, but that shit is still straight to the eye. It’s like a leg kick to the thigh where the foot hits the cup. It’s not an intentional foul, but it’s a foul, no?
Yes. That's why the fight should have been paused and Paddy given up to five minutes to recover.Taking a point because Paddy moved his eye into a thumb on a punch to the face would have been ridiculous. It's like when JDS turned the back of his head into a blow already on the way and there were babies yammering about how that should have been penalized with a DQ. Nonsense.

One of the most important reasons that refs don't take points for unintentional fouls is that fighters often share blame for the fouls happening and trying to figure out when the fouled fighter isn't largely at fault is not possible in real time.

People really think this should be a point deduction? Should refs just tell fighters not to punch each other in the eye area?

Lol in what world is this not a blatant eyepoke? The crazy thing is this came AFTER he was warned. If you poke someone in the eye you poke someone in the eye. It doesn't matter if you threw a sloppy ass half closed punch which barely landed. The poke is what did the damage and debilitated Paddy and set him up to get clobbered by the next shot which was a haymaker which knocked Paddy down and then was followed up with 50 GnP shots. Paddy was absolutely cooked after that sequence and never recovered. In other words an eye poke that came after Gaethje was WARNED shaped the fight. Disgusting.

Seems like fans are more concerned about it then Pimblet himself. He didn't mention it at all or use it as an excuse. Not everyone is a whiny baby like Aspinall.

Pimblett got his brains beat in and turned into mush. He was concussed and he didn't watch it on the TV like us. I'm sure when he watches it back he will see what happened and there's no way he will be happy about it. He got absolutely fucked by a grey area loophole of the sport where poking someone's eye out is "technically legal" just as long as you're throwing a punch while poking someone's eyes out... or something...

Things happened, Justin him self was poked in the eye multiple time by Holloway before he got knocked out.

Justin fights dirty with eye pokes, and he's an experienced vet that knows what he's doing. I'd bet a substantial amount of money he absolutely does not eye gouge his gym sparring partners, because he wouldn't have any quickly.

It definitely changed the shape of the fight and both pokes were early. Anyone saying the second eye poke wasn't a foul need to rewatch it. His thumb goes directly in his eye and its because he didn't properly close his fist.

So long as you get to eye poke your opponent for free, we'll watch it derail fights and guys like Gane and JG will do it repeatedly in their appearances.
