FX's FARGO Discussion Thread

I thought it was too "easy" myself, that was "cartoony" to me, how many return-fire shots were done, and dude just mows through 10x dudes. Still liked it. This has so many feels of No Country, but it just makes me want to watch No Country.

And yes, the CGI's a bit wonky. Haha! Loved the hate-fuck scene.

I'm not quite sure how I feel about seeing Bilbo's sex face.

you mean the bad cgi or the act itself?

The act itself. I didn't even notice the bad CGI.

Also, the numerous loud gunfire should have been detectable even from the FBI's car.

It is lifting from the movie though. It is hitting most of the key points that made the movie famous. The weirdness of that part of the country, that most people never see. The pussy husband, who gets himself in totally over his head. I mean, that character is William T Macy, from the movie. The woman cop as lead. The psychos. It hits all those quirks that made the movie so fresh. Same atmosphere, slight variations.

Even the little things, like the female cop talking to the deaf guy. How she can't understand why people do this stuff, over money. It is almost the exact point the woman cop made at the end of the movie.

I beg to differ about that. Lester might've started the show as an expy of William T Macy's character, but with each passing episode he grows more different. Everything Jerry Lundegaard touched turned to shit. All his plans blew up in his face.

But Lester Nygaard has demonstrated a great talent for improvisation when cornered. In fact, the more he embraces the Dark Side, the more competent he becomes.

This show fills the hole that Breaking Bad left. Not completely, but more than anything else could.

it also shouldve been detectable from other rooms which mustve alerted the mob.
so,did Malvo just bust in there matrix style, evading bullets?

I like the concept of filming the raid from outside the house but they shouldve made it visible through the windows

I liked the over-the-topness of the scene. Malvo blazed through the building while the viewers could only hear what was going on. It probably would have come off as totally unbelievable if they showed what was going on, so I liked the slightly comical way they did that scene.

I hope they don't kill Lester off.

That too crossed my mind.

I have a feeling he's going to outlive all of them and get away with everything. But in all likelihood, Molly will probably be the one to bust him.

Marge has arrived.

Now it's just a matter of time until Gus starts complaining about stamps.

That sociopath swag is strong in Lester. Only problem is that it's stronger in BBT.

My money's on Lester going to prison for life and Malvo somehow being shot/killed by Molly. I'm curious to see where they go with Wrench, and his relationship with Malvo. Malvo will probably end up killing him anyway in time. Also, the Feds are adding an interesting dynamic. Show's running out of time quickly, though. Should be a great episode next week.

I'm getting pretty annoyed with the "good cops" couple, seriously their scenes are so boring compared to the rest... I get that they're the true heroes and all but they should have found a way to make them more compelling/likable... That phone call in the car almost put me to sleep...

So, Lester is going to try to become a hitman?

This show is off the fucking chain. Honestly haven't had this much fun watching a show since BB.

I can't identify with the goody goody couple, and hope they lose it all.

at first it looked like lester was about to bang his brothers wife

last 2 eps should be epic

-malvo
-lester
-fbi
-mr wrench
-molly and gus

all still in it

I had to catch up on the last two episodes recently. I'm really glad the side plot with Stavros (the dude from Big C) and Chumph (the dude from Always Sunny) is over. The show lacks focus at times, but it's been entertaining.
