Fury vs Wilder III in Relation to the UFC/MMA Discussion Mega Thread

What I saw from Tyson Fury tonight leads me to believe he would do very well in MMA and could potentially be a UFC champ. He 's the only boxer I can say that about.

Obviously he has the boxing skills and would be the best boxer in UFC history, but more importantly he has the grit and physicality of an mma fighter, which is something you rarely see from a boxer. What he did to Wilder tonight wasn't just boxing it was also grappling, dirty boxing, and mauling. The only thing Fury needs is some defensive wrestling. Honestly, he doesn't even need bjj. Guys like black beast and mark hunt had amazing careers with white belt level bjj. if fury learned how to defend doubles and singles he would never lose. His skill and talent are far above anything I see in the UFC heavyweight division at the moment

Never lose? Nah. HW has some hard hitters and even if they can't take him down leg kicks hurt like hell and he's not used to them. Great boxer though.

Stupid comment .. the old A level athlete garbage

It's not stupid. There
Look at Stipe who was a golden glove winner and a wanna be MLB'er. Yet he became HW champ, and possibly GOAT UFC HW champ at that. But but but a guy who is the boxing HW champ couldn't come in to the UFC and do shit? LMAO, you mma fan gurls are all too stupid. Also it is hilarious how you same fan gurls think that if Fury or Wilder came to the UFC (which they wouldn't, and why the fuck would they come to the UFC for shit pay and put up with dana's bitch ass?) that they wouldn't ever train for kicks or take downs. You homegurls are fuckin lacking many of wrinkles in your brain.

I agree with you and I meant UFC fighters gas out too easily, compared to athletes from boxing and other sports.

The thing is, there's not a lot of wrestlers in the hw division right now, nor a lot of leg kickers.

As a boxing fan and an MMA fan, threads like this really show who's living in LA LA land and who's in reality.

Fury could easily be HW champ in any MMA org so could Wilder. They have the money to pay for the best cross training on the planet including muay thai and grappling. Could they walk in off the street and beat Ngannou or Gane? Fuck no. Could they cross train for a couple of years and decimate the entire top ten of the most shallow division in the UFC? Yes.

Would they? Lol, no who wants to be paid peanuts by Daner compared to a 100 million dollar pay day?

David have and a few others had wrestled before.

If derrick Lewis can fight for a title twice. Don't fucking kid yourself thinking these dudes couldn't be champs.

You can’t be serious, surely?

Honestly some people just don’t get combat sports. The idea that you can look at someone’s legs and tell how well they would adapt to taking leg kicks, is stupid.

Look at the entire body of Tyson Fury, the idea that he would be the best conditioned heavyweight in combat sports is ridiculous - and yet he clearly is.

This idea that elite boxers who are comfortable going to war for 12 rounds in what is likely the most dangerous combat sport would just crumble the first time they got kicked in the leg is hilarious.

He would also change up stuff which no one takes into account especially dumb mma fans. They make out like a boxer or any other martial artist who is a specialist in one discipline would just walk into an octagon with no preparation etc. Ofc they would need years and years of training first why would a boxer just walk into the octagon with no experience or training in other disciplines.

honestly even wilder would beat the current champ francis in a mma stand up fight

wilder is clearly more powerful

Tyson Fury couldn't win a street-fight against Gane or Ngannou let alone an MMA fight.

Gane knocks Fury unconscious via a head kick within 30 seconds of an MMA fight. It takes a long time to learn how to block kicks, you don't just walk into an octagon and naturally get your guard up. UFC fans don't appreciate how dangerous a man with Ganes skills are to the untrained.

Frank Ngannou Kimuras Fury permanently ending his career. Tyson would have five inches on Frank but both walk around at the same weight and Ngannou is vastly stronger. This would be a straight up mauling.

Deontay Wilder on the other hand, he would make a good MMA fighter but definitely not Tyson Fury.

Fury should stick to the crooked sport that is boxing that is where he belongs.
dude please

fury has been street fighting since he was like 10.

none of the UFC heavies beats him in a street fight

If it was just a one-off, he could train for a relatively one-dimensional fighter like Ngannou, and probably win. The more dynamic fighters, or anyone with a strong wrestling background, e.g. Stipe, DC, etc, would beat Fury, even if he had a year to prep.

why would he want to come to a 2nd class organization that rips off fighters when he is making huge money?

So many haters smh.
If mma paid well better figthers like fury, wilder etc would have beenprofessional mma figthers! not only does mma not pay well it also has no pipeline of talent at the heavier weights.

Bro look at the top 20 HW boxers in the world .. once you go past 5, you’re in absolute can territory
