Fuji BJJ Gi Review

Just received my Fuji Blue gi today!

I got an A4 I am 6'1 180 lbs (fight 170 float between 75-90)

Tried it on out of the bag, first impressions my reach is 72 inches and the a4 went down to about the beginning of my fingers/middle of hand, the pants are hyooge in the waist area but they fit me in length (actually could be perfect I have very long legs for my body) but again they fit in length but are way to wide.

So I just put the GI in the washer and washed it on warm, after that I will probably hang dry the pants and then put the GI top in the dryer or I may put both in the dryer and just check every once in a while.

Very good looking GI, this is my first official BJJ GI!

Although I lost my blue belt a while ago I really wish I had ordered a new belt a long with this GI.

Got the Fuji singleweave, was big at first, but after i washed it on hot and put it in the dryer it fit perfectly. I also have a Mizuno single weave but you can tell the Fuji is made much better, w a thicker collar and better fit. Nice gi

Just got this Gi, I'm 6' about 185 lbs 70" reach, ordered the A4. I knew it would be a bit big but I planned on shrinking it down. As I thought it was a bit long went to about the end of my thumb. After a wash and dry the size was perfect. It is slightly tight in the armpit but is really unnoticeable after a few minutes.

Rolled in it today and it was great. It feels durable even though it is light.
Great gi, even better for the price.

Where did you end up buying yours? I tried an A4 at the Budovideos store and the gi was huge... I'm about your size except shorter abot 5'7 185. You think an A4 wll fit after wash and dry?

I'm 5'10 and about 165 - 170. Do you guys suggest an A2 or A3 for me?

Also, I'm from Canada, so does anybody have any suggestions on where to order or get one specifically for BJJ ( not the judo cut). I'm contemplating on getting one from Budovideos, but am scared of custom fees.

go with an a3 and shrink with hot water. pants will be a bit loose but nothing a dryer cant fix!

Hi Striker.

I'm in Canada and ordered my Fuji BJJ Victory's directly from hatashitsports.com. Shipping was approx $30cdn for 2 gi's and I wasn't hit with any custom/duties. I'm 5'8 and 160ish and got an A3 after calling many stores and reading many posts. After all the shrinkage, it's still a little big, but I think with your height/weight and A3 would be perfect.

I just received my Fuji Victory A2 white GI today. I ordered from Hashitasports. I am 5'7 and 170 lbs. The gi fit's me almost perfectly out of the bag. I am shrinking my sleaves and pants a touch. Anyone taller than 5'7 should buy an A3.

Are you from US or Canada? Did you get any custom/brokerage fees (if you're not from US)?

Thanks

I'm in Canada. There was no brokerage fee. Solid gi, I would buy from Hatashita again.

I emailed hatashitasports/dojobuy and the person that responded told me that it was only avail to their US customers. Looks like things have changed =D

may have to look into getting one.

Just got my blue fuji single weave BJJ Gi today. Ordered from Budovideos.

I'm about 5'10, weigh 165 (medium build).

I ordered an A3 and the sleeves are just about right, maybe a bit short. The length of the pants are perfect, and the overall gi fits just about right. Any shrinking and I think it will be too small.

I order a Fuji gi thanks to the recommendation of this post. Just thought I'd give you guys an idea about sizing because it worked out a little off for me.

I am 5'8 180lbs. I was recommended an a3. I ordered one and after about 5 hot wash/dry cycles the gi is still a bit big on me, I even had to get the pants tailored because they were too long.

I figured I would order an a2 to see how it fits instead, and right out of the box the a2 fits perfect, it also feels lighter. I know the a2 sizing chart lists like 160 or so as max weight, but this thing fits me perfect. So if shorter guys are finding their a3 too big, even if you are above the weight limit for an a2, I say try one anyway and you might be happy.

I'm 6' 245-250lbs. Would an A5 be my size in this gi? Also how much does it shrink? How many washes till it stops shrinking all together?
Thanks

I'm about 5'10-5'11 225-235 pounds. A bit overweight but not too fat considering; fairly large frame. Broad shoulders, and fairly large thighs. Nonetheless, I am out of shape, and I hope to slim down a good bit over the next year. I saw a topic with a similar question where the guy was just a couple inches taller than me. Most people recommended the A5. This is my first gi, I was thinking the A4 but now I'm unsure. Would the A5 be too big for me (I worry about length in particular) or would shrinking it a bit take care of this? Thanks.

Just be careful how you wash it. They DO shrink. My A3 was big on me out of the box and my gf accidentally dried it the other day and the sleeves are no longer competition legal. I'm 6'1" 175lbs, btw.

if you're from canada i would only pick it up at hatashita canada. their service is awesome.

my size on the chart is a2. it shrank too much even without drying. A3 is fine for me being 5'7 155lbs.

if you bought from Canada it's the judo cut. Sleaves are wider and it is not the Victory model that is specifically for BJJ. The A2 Victory model is what I have an fits perfect. I am 5'7 and 165 lbs. The best way to shrink a gi is to wash in cold and put in the dryer and check on it every five minutes. After a couple cycles it will stop shrinking.
