With Cedric (Cameroon/French like Francis) signing with the PFL, maybe they got Francis as well...

This was liked by Cedric...

Because the PFL is willing to do things we haven't really seen much in this sport. It's like Jake getting a cut of this PFL PPV series thing on top of his pay if he fights. Not crazy to think they offer Francis something similar. Not to mention 50% of the revenue of these PPV's are suppose to go to the fighters.

Plus PFL's goal is to have PFL Europe, Africa, Japan, Brazil, etc. My guess is they probably promised Francis some part of that or a job in Africa version.

On top of this allow him to box.

Either way its all things that make Francis feels like he is part of something and not just a slave to the UFC system or whatever you want to call it.

Now does any of this pan out to riches, who knows. History would say, nope.
Interesting take. Makes sense.

What are you guys eating, smoking, drinking for the big day!?

Guess you didn't see the interview with Ngannou where he said if he wanted just money, he would have signed with the UFC. He said money is all they could offer. He wants health care for the fighters and to be treated like an employee - not an independent contractor. He's trying to change the game. Is money part of it? Sure but that's not the only thing.

The equivalency would be working for a plumping company, being forced to wear a uniform, not getting health care, only being allowed to work on certain customers and not being allowed to work on the side all the while calling you an "independent contractor". That's the UFC and that's a terrible gig. If you are a contractor, you should be able to do your job through the company and then once that job is done, you do anything else you want on the side. In this case box, get sponsors and do everything someone independent is allowed.
If you pay me 8 million you can treat me as you see fit... I'll be crying all the way to the bank!

Yesterday in the MMA hout, Doumbe dropped a big hint. Saying "tommotow will be a big day for PFL".

It's almost certain Ngannou has signed with PFL. The surprise will be the kind of deal they made, which IMO is going to be something new in MMA.

No way it's 8 mil per fight.

I would think so. Why wouldn’t ANY promotion (other than UFC) offer that? I mean, if that’s the sticking point for him, it seems dumb for lesser promotions to not allow this and lose him as a fighter in there roster
Think about him being obliterated by a low level opponent in boxing. That will serious diminish his worth also in MMA but now he has a fixed contract with you for several fights. I get every promotion being very critical of allowing him boxing especially with the level his boxing is at.

It would be a different thing if he would start in a sport that is not that closely associated to your worth in MMA. F.e Michael Jordan going into Baseball. Also wIth NGannou watch his training footage. Even were it is meant to push his abilities you see the glaring holes he has in his boxing game. Ngannou is not a good boxer .

Cedric and Werdum are nice fights

He said himself that it isn't all about money. It's freedom and health insurance. He wants to able to box and do other things behinds MMA + have health insurance. Outside of health insurance, it's the same thing Fedor was doing. Short contracts and the freedom to do other things.
lol by boxing you will earn more money
sounds like all lies and bs then
