Who did he sign for the decision reveal special? This is like lebron hames the decision. Only bigger of course

could you imagine he is back in the UFC.... fighting jones in july!
Would be bonkers but literally impossible.

Francis would want 20 million. Jones would demand 40 million.

And the UFC would tell both of them to absolutely fuck off

Not sure, maybe we could consult the 8 billion other threads about this exact thing......

crazy to think that people will pay him that much.... i don't see it happening, but who the hec knows, maybe he will agree to something that gives him "freedom".

PFL with an option to box, maybe under the PFL banner or Jake Paul’s promotion. They’re probably going to announce his first boxing match, too.

He said himself that it isn't all about money. It's freedom and health insurance. He wants to able to box and do other things behinds MMA + have health insurance. Outside of health insurance, it's the same thing Fedor was doing. Short contracts and the freedom to do other things.
Every single sentence of this couldn't be more wrong. Pretty impressive.

You gotta take ufc offers with a grain of salt because if you lose, they can cut you or i think even lower your pay and thereby not have to pay you what you signed for.

That's what the situation was with his UFC contract. The offer was 8 mill to fight Jones, but if he lost his pay would go down. Which makes sense, the UFC ins't gonna pay Francis 8 mill to be in a contender fight where he's not even a champ.

Agreed but the people hating on him want to pretend that clause does not exist.

Ya, seems PFL is the front runner. My question is, if nobody else can afford him (including UFC) how is PFL able to fork over enough to get him to sign?

They were paying pettis 750 thousand per fight. Francis will probably make more than that. Plus the chance to make an extra million by winning the tournament. He could also crossover into boxing to make extra side money

If he lost and was no longer the champion, with no other super fights like vs Jones, why would they still be paying him the same amount? It’s perfectly logical the offer would be reduced

After no one else paid him what he wanted, he lowered his demands.

UFC offered Francis 8 million to fight Jones. Fuck the PFL tournament, are you serious? Lol. A single million dollars is less than NGannou was making before he left.

Because the PFL is willing to do things we haven't really seen much in this sport. It's like Jake getting a cut of this PFL PPV series thing on top of his pay if he fights. Not crazy to think they offer Francis something similar. Not to mention 50% of the revenue of these PPV's are suppose to go to the fighters.

Plus PFL's goal is to have PFL Europe, Africa, Japan, Brazil, etc. My guess is they probably promised Francis some part of that or a job in Africa version.

On top of this allow him to box.

Either way its all things that make Francis feels like he is part of something and not just a slave to the UFC system or whatever you want to call it.

Now does any of this pan out to riches, who knows. History would say, nope.

Because typically you sign a contract and the other side typically honors the terms. If the terms are actually "wins" instead of fights then they should say that to the public. Now if you want it so what the UFC does is normal, then the ngannou haters cant pretend hes turning away guaranteed money. They instead pretend he turned down some deal where the amount he'd get is set in stone. The UFC could even make him sign for lots of money multi-fight and then cut him after he loses 1 fight to jones and not have to pay him anything more and lowball him on new offers or they can shelf him and drag out his contract. If ngannou refuses these terms then UFC will say "he turned down our contract for X millions" and pretend whatever he would of signed for was set in stone. These contracts are extremely one sided and the UFC frequently leaves out key information about them and manipulates the public into discrediting those refuse them. Especially if said fighter wants to sign elsewhere. They are very petty.
