Shit, I've been sleeping. You're making this sound really urgent! I have to.... I have to wake up here, man.....

Shit, I'm not agitated enough... something's gotta be done. WHY FRANCIS??? OH WHYYYYY???

I feel your angst, brother. It's tasty!
You're a weirdo

so it seems francis was scared to fight jones all along ???

didn't want to risk losing his pay rate.
Are you really serious about him being scared of Jones?

You even answered your own question "didn't want to risk losing his pay rate"

Like most people out there, the fear isn't with fighting someone. The fear is about not making enough money, or losing your job.

Do you not fear getting a demotion and losing out tons of potential money?

Conor had no fear because he could lose and still get paid. His loss against Diaz made him more popular. He got more opportunity from losing, going on to fight for the UFC title, then on to fighting Mayweather. All of this after a laughable performance against Diaz in both fights.

In the end, getting paid is what matters most to these guys. I can understand why Francis did what he did, while you guys just keep shitting on him like he's retarded.

...

You do realize that Ngannou only made $500K for the Gane fight precisely because he refused to sign any of the new contracts that the UFC had offered him since Stipe and was fighting out his old initial contract? That Ngannou himself admitted he'd lost at least $7M by just not taking that Stipe contract, let alone any new ones they might've offered him afterwards prior to the last Jones one they tried to give him?

Christ, no wonder people keep siding with Ngannou on this. They don't even know he's "underpaid" because he himself kept refusing the UFC's money.

I am not sure why so many people like to crow over ngannoi seemingly failing.

If he valued himself at more and was willing to be stuck at a lower level of pay because he refused to sign a contract that undervalued what he thought he was worth, then it's his right to take a stand on that principle. If he turns out to have overvalued himself, that's what sometimes happens in life. Do u think everybody who is now at the top correctly valued his own worth? Therr must be many who overvalued themselves but their chutzpah got them.over the line. There are many who didn't get over the line but not because they lacked the nerve - the chips just didn't fall out for them. Ngannou played the hand he had the best he could and went for the prize instead of settling for the safe option.

If he won, his popularity would have increased multiple fold and I feel a rematch would ve been on the cards.
More popularity, more PPV buys equals more money.
Also, wasn't this 8 mill guaranteed pay and not including PPV points?
Depends. If he flattens Jones and he doesn't get a rematch, he would have faced Stipe. Jones-Ngannou is the kind of fight that does a million buys, it was really a one of a kind thing.

And no, not guaranteed. The UFC almost never guarantees purses like that.

turned into a total failure and went to pfl
iu

The wilder fight is done now that be got arrested

Francis thinking he’s maywether?

You have the audacity to turn down 20 million?

The company's abysmal financial performance, working with Wada, hydration testing, etc

I mean gag orders and endless other things (personal and business) that make Chatri seem dishonest, questionable claims and of questionable character. The guys unscrupulous af and is like the Kim Jung-un of MMA promoters. He’s notoriously fragile and has meltdowns if everyone doesn’t go along with him and praise him (it’s literally in the contracts to do so).

That number's gotta be One acting like they were willing to drop 20 million on him, very hard to believe, ditto hat PFL will offer him anything in the region of that amount of money.

No way in hell was ONE offering Francis $20 million. Chatri is a snake oil salesman who makes Dana look like a choir boy.

Yup. The only reason he gets a pass compared to Dana is simply because he has less powerful and his lack of character can't damage as many fighters.

Will never understand why people use Twitter, mostly a bunch of #gibberish or dumb people. Like the tweet in TS thread, a guy comparing Lesnar's pay in 2016 to now and being of the opinion that Ngannou should be paid MORE. How many PPVs did/does Ngannou sell? And how many did Lesnar sell? Lesnar was a HUGE star compared to Ngannou, Ngannou barely moved the needle. That being said, fighters should get a bigger piece of the pie and I'm happy that Ngannou stands up for himself even if he's delusional.

That’s what all athletes do or just anybody at a lay jobor career. If you’re unhappy, want more money want to do something else , different schedule. Whatever that may be
Go and do that.
I would imagine he knows better about what he wants in his career than guys on the internet. I could be wrong. Like Francis is about his career…

these Francis haters are ridiculous.
“MMA is not a career. It’s an opportunity.”

I dunno. Is it possible to offer $20 million, but then quickly backtrack saying, "never mind," before anything is signed?

It is possible. Still, why would ONE offer Francis $20 million? They've got a cheap streaming deal with Amazon. They've lost almost $400 million in their lifetime, never turning a profit in any year they've been operating. It not only makes zero sense, Chatri dropping this information out of nowhere creates headlines and attention before their first US card this weekend and makes them seem like a big player. It's too convenient.
