nobodies offering big league boxing money to a pfl fighter.
Yeah, if only he stayed with the UFC he'd have ALL the big league boxing money - great point and even better thinking, sherbro!

"Francis fucked up the bag by earning more money" - the braindead half of Sherdog

He will be 100x richer if he makes 100x more than what he use top
That’s all you gotta do, it’s simple mathss

Conor did not make 200mil from the Mayweather fight LMAO.

Not even 100mil net. He might, MIGHT have a net worth of 200 mill if you add up every single one of hid fights, selling Proper 12, and every other investment/endorsement money

Oh I don't necessarily think he's worried about money short of him trying to emulate the McGregor lifestyle but I seriously doubt One or PFL will offer him in the region of 20+ million without it being for at least double digit fights and brand work for the company when he retires. Of course it will be in their and Franks' interest to insist they have offered a sum far greater than what the UFC offered but given he and his team are on record saying win or lose he would have got 8 mill alone for the Jones fight surely you'd have to be skeptical. Whilst other organizations do typically overpay for UFC talent that's a ridiculous amount for a guy who is nigh on 37, coming off an injury layoff that is fast approaching 1.5 years and has never proven to be a PPV draw.
I don't speculate as much as you and Sherdog do - this kind of wild speculation is useless to me.

If I stick to known facts, it looks like this:

Francis didn't want to stay with the UFC for $12m over 3 fights - he felt (1) he was worth more and (2) he wanted more freedom to box, etc. and (3) he didn't like how he was treated by the UFC.

This is his job. So he went and applied elsewhere. He got offered "20m guaranteed" by ONE and turned it down almost before meeting - what does this tell me? A lot.

He is *rumoured* to have signed with who he turned down the alleged 20m deal for and (1) his trainer says that deal is for the kind of money he wanted. (2) And it is *rumoured* to have a boxing component. (3) And, presumably, Francis does not expect to be treated as poorly by them.

That's all we do know so far. And by any objective measure (comparing his three dissatisfaction points with his UFC deal, with those same points under this rumoured PFL deal) this is a great improvement in his work life.

At this point we don't know what the PFL offer is, but I don't believe he left $12m at the UFC for 3 fights to score $20m for 10+ fights and brand work when he retires for a smaller org. The ONLY reason I'd believe this is because one random poster on Sherdog feels this way.

I'd be an idiot if I formed my beliefs not based on known facts and disclosures, but on the feelings and suspicions of one admittedly uninformed (you have no inside knowledge of what PFL offered) Sherdog poster. Hopefully you can credit me for forming my opinions more wisely than that, lol?

Why do fighters of a high of value want to go to the PFL? I thought the whole point of that promotion was to win the million dollar prize. Doesn’t that basically advertise a ceiling for fighter pay? If these guys like Francis go in wanting to make multiple millions per fight then what they hell is the point of having a million dollar grand prize?

I know it's a cop out take but imo it's simply too early to tell whether Francis will get the purse he's looking for. And forget 5 boxes fights, if he's smart all he needs is 1 to be set for life (if he doesn't splurge and lives chill) . We'll see, either way Francis did what he had to do leaving the UFC . I fully believe him when he says it was as much about freedom and respect as it was about money.

It was about the freedom of being able to chase a big money boxing fight, it was always about money.

Nope. He was offered 8 mil for the JBJ fight, and just that fight.
I have seen figures of 2 and 4 mil floating around for the other 2 fights .
But I have not seen anything verified.

Francis said by not re-signing to a Champs contract he left "$7m on the table" between the Stipe 2 and Gane fights which given his base was 500k seems like he was offered $4m a fight.

I doubt that would be dropping to $2m after the Jones fight, especially when it's rumoured Izzy makes $5m.

I think the bottom line is there is a reason most guys want to goto the UFC. Overall they are the biggest, best, and pay guys the most. Of course there are always exceptions. Whatever Francis signs for now he already lost 8 million for the Jones fight. I have nothing against Francis, but he seems to have a massive ego and getting bad advice from whoever. He could still hit a big payday boxing, but it's looking more like a long shot. I think the only fight that would get him near the 8 mil would be with Fury. I am not sure how boxing works, but if Fury is champ is he even "allowed" to fight Francis for a non title fights fight

He should have made the Jon Jones fight happen at all costs and then moved on to any other plans…

I think he might have fucked up bad. I hope not though…

....and should've after overshooting on demands he could of easily repudiated a few demands , sign a 2 fight deal with the 1st being the Jones fight and making his bag on that fight alone.

We don't know the actual offer but going off Francis last pay cheque from the Gane fight which was $500k with no win bonus. He was grossly underpaid and I don't blame him for testing free agency.

...

You do realize that Ngannou only made $500K for the Gane fight precisely because he refused to sign any of the new contracts that the UFC had offered him since Stipe and was fighting out his old initial contract? That Ngannou himself admitted he'd lost at least $7M by just not taking that Stipe contract, let alone any new ones they might've offered him afterwards prior to the last Jones one they tried to give him?

Christ, no wonder people keep siding with Ngannou on this. They don't even know he's "underpaid" because he himself kept refusing the UFC's money.

Big Frank is delusional.
UFC could pay him 50m per fight and he'd probably still complain its not enough.

He's not even that big of a draw.
Hilarious.

If the rumors are true that the PFL is looking to buy Bellator, then there is no reason to believe that the PFL couldnt match what the UFC was offering, or at least make a comparable offer.

BIG DIFFERENCE here being that Francis will most likely also be allowed to take boxing/kickboxing/bkfc fights. So if that big boxing payday does come he’ll be able to capitalize on that opportunity, which is something he wouldnt have been able to do while locked up in a lengthy UFC contract that eats up the remainder of his prime years.
On top of that he’s fighting mostly cans for a comparable payday, as opposed to fighting Jones, Gane, Pavlovich, Aspinall.

He might come out making less money overall at the end of the day, but it will most likely not be a big difference, butttttttt he at least gives himself the opportunity to potentially come out making A LOT more than the UFC offering.

Luckily it's a market so if the entire market rejects his offer, he can revise it and go back to market. In any case, he'll be fine.
This is definitely true. From the sounds of it he has pissed a few people off in the first round of negotiations, hopefully that doesn't hurt him too much. I think he has enough value that it shouldn't.

Not even 100mil net. He might, MIGHT have a net worth of 200 mill if you add up every single one of hid fights, selling Proper 12, and every other investment/endorsement money
he made 250 mill on proper 12 alone. So it is not a MIGHT, but a FACT.

Fury is trolling himself out of being undisputed champ. Scared of s man he called a "MW". These UK guys have the weirdest trash talk. Like Till with his "I'm a fooking LHW mate, matching me up with WW's should be illegal" or some shit like that.
Fury can do whatever he wants, waste time, lose fights, whatever, and he will still be one of the greatest warriors that has ever existed. My respect for him is immense - and him getting up cemented him as a true legend that should be spoken in the same breath as Leonidas, Spartacus, Miyamoto Musashi. This is one of the greatest moments, maybe the greatest, in combats sports - ever.

No one is ever going to make a change, and UFC fighters will be underpaid with the way most of you guys think.

Regardless of what becomes of this, it's setting an example that people don't need the UFC to be successful in MMA. UFC needs fighters for their show, and amateur level fights won't do if all the good fighters leave.

I'm sure there will always be some dope out there willing to fight for pennies, but we need promotional competition again. Ever since the UFC bought out all of it's competitors, it's gotten far worse to watch.

To sign any deal with any organisation at any price he want

This guy is so delusional

Remember when Fury said he want to do a boxing match with Ngannou, i think he just throw that randomly at a time when ngannou was hype and Ngannou believed it

How a guy who grew up in one of the poorest area in the world working in a sand mine as a kid can be so freaking picky about money after being rich already putting against him all the fighting organization in the world

Nobody want or can sign him now, he is completely disconnected from our world

Discuss

Ngannou thinks he is valued at so much and he is sticking to his guns. That is his right and if the rest of the world disagrees then he is the one who will live with the consequences. If he is fine with that then I'm not sure why anybody should be condemning him for it. At least he had the courage of conviction and as long as he doesn't blame anybody else for it but himself then why should anybody else do that?
